Here is a pic of a deer I got in Colorado. I saw him a week earlier, and decided that he was the one I wanted to hunt. I was very lucky to find him again a week later. I was still hunting along a two track, heard a snort, and then he was standing there about 60 yards away.

He was probably bedded there and either heard or smelled something and gave you an opportunity. Sounds like a blacktail hunt....only bigger. Congratulations.
