Was able to get out for the last day of the wasatch front extended archery hunt. Started seeing deer right away with all the new snow. Saw a good buck in the middle of a private fenced area getting some sun. Fun watching him chew his cud.

I look up on the ridge from where I was and spotted another 4 point that had busted off his g2. He looked to be in a good area to make a play and when he bedded, game on!! Here's some video of him, love the phone skope!!

So I get hiking up the ridge and peek over into the draw periodically to make sure he's still bedded. I checked twice and he's still there. Can you spot him in this pic??

I check the wind and I get to about 120 yds from him and get to where I want to make my descent onto him. I peek over one more time and he's gone out of his bed?!! I look for a few minutes and no sign of him. I see on the opposite ridge another hunter was coming down towards him as well. After seeing what the other hunter was doing I pick up movement about 50 yds below from where I last seen him through the scrub oak. I watched for a while and decided to move down the rigde to get into position where I thought he may cross over if he comes my way. No sign of the buck after about 10 minutes and the other hunter had moved down towards where I'd last seen him. I keep moving slowly down the ridge but no luck. After waiting till last shooting light I made it down off the bench and run into two other hunters. Apparently as I was making my way down the ridge the buck moved up towards me but I never saw him!! I had a couple does and a smaller 2 point cross close by but no luck on him. I guess that's how public land, last day of the season goes. Can't wait to do it again next year!! Here's a few more pics of bucks earlier in the month rutting. Thanks for reading!!

>Is this last buck broken on
>one side or deformed?

He's deformed on the one side, he has a hook point that comes down by the side of his face
