I may be wrong but I think those are the only states for OTC muley tags. However other states have many units for leftovers or zero point 1st choice units...

LAST EDITED ON Jan-12-17 AT 02:45PM (MST)[p]You can get 2 buck tags in California and chase 20" + 4x4's

Nebraska and Texas have OTC mule deer licenses. But look at Wyoming and Colorado. Lots of units that can be drawn every year.

Best of luck.

Montana is good enough for bucks of that class, but it is not truly OTC for NR hunters. A lough there is a draw, I dont think that all of the deer tags are taken in the initial draw and some may be available OTC for awhile, but i think that the deer-only tags eventually sell out. Montana has long season including much of November. The quality of bucks, on public land, may be limited by these liberal seasons but a 20 inch 4x4 is possible.

thanks the 20 plus 25 would be nice in 4x4 was just reference not big on inches just have low standards for where i currently hunt thanks big always think about but heavy horned buck

I grew up in Eastern Montana and while it's not truly OTC you can draw a buck tag there pretty easily. There are still some good slugs out there. Last time I was out there I was after a bachelor group of five bucks all over 25 inches and all nice 4x4's except one big non-typical but they kept outstanding me in the cedars.

>awesome i hear there is access
>issues that part MT plus
>i hunt from atv
>do to disability wheelchair bound

Dev the areas i hunted did have a lot of BLM to hunt. The big guys won't be close to the road in most cases but you do have a fair chance at a decent 4 point. I've seen them shot every year I went home to hunt. Also as far as access the block management is pretty decent out there and you hunt BLM and private on that program.
