Here's a couple big bucks shared by Peter Eades in the Photo Tours section of the site.

Which one would you hunt? Let's say you spent 20 days scouting the high and low country of Utah and these are the best two you found. The top buck lives within a mile of the road in an area that gets a little more pressure than the other. The lower buck is 4 miles in and you think you'd probably have the area to yourself, or at worst, a couple other dudes. Which do you pursue, and why?

#1 is top of my list.. Eye guards, mass nice cheater flips my switch more that #2.. If he is the one in the farthest or the closest he is getting my full attention

#1 all the way. He's an older, heavier buck. Both bucks are fantastic, but I don't think buck #2 is actually all that old. Not much mass, no pebbling to speak of, head just looks young to me.

In my mind, buck #1 is superior. Get him first thing on opening day.

I really like buck #1. But with the scenario you set, I'de look for Buck #1 the evening before the opener. If I didn't see him the night before the opener, I'de hike the 4 miles in the dark to buck #2 to try and take him in the morning. #2 is just too big of a buck to not try and take him, especially if I think I can get it done in a spot where there will be little competition. While buck #1 being so close to the road is quite a gamble, especially if you don't see him the day before. But if he would be there the night before, I'de try for him in the morning...

Top buck for first few days, if no luck chances are bottom buck wont get pressured and will be where you left him so I would go after him after things dont work out with top buck.

You always make us choose Founder. You need to post one photo and ask "would you shoot this giant buck?" It'd be much easier...

I'd shoot #1 for the mass.

Number one and then take number 2 the following year when he puts on more mass and grows that cheater and looks more like # 1. Both cool bucks.

For me, 1 minute into legal shooting time on opening day and I'm pulling th etrigger!

But since you asked, I'm along the lines of Halface and Buckmaster. I'd give #1 a couple of days. If the area looks like a pumpkin patch and I hear lots of shooting, I'm headed in for an unpressured #2.

I have seen deer the day before a season opens and said "if he is here in the morning, I'll shoot him." And pulled the trigger the next morning!
