I have 14 points and am looking for info on which Colorado ranches would be worth trying to draw a ranching for wildlife tag.
I just had my 3rd back surgery in August and can still walk and hike, but don't have as much ability as I used to for scouting and hunting, so I understand that I am burning a lot of points and won't be able to pre scout the area, but I am willing to take that trade off in order to shoot a nice buck before my health deteriorates any further.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

LAST EDITED ON Mar-05-17 AT 07:28PM (MST)[p]There are several ranches that would fit your bill that have the habitat and acerage to produce some smokers every year. The problem is most of the managers set their seasons up so that paying clients either get first crack or at least premium hunt dates not to mention they scout these deer and you can't . Now that being said I still think the right person with maybe a little luck could pull a good buck, but with that many points I think I'd be looking at some upper tier units that I could scout and put the time into. Just my 2 cents worth but I'm sure many will disagree. What is a good buck to you because that could make a difference?

And when I say could scout I mean a unit that would match your physical abilities.

Are you a Colorado Resident?

OK just double checking. It seems that every year around this time we have people who do not realize that RFW tags are resident only.

I will shoot you a PM for some hunt options.

I did notice that. I am just not sure how much longer my back will hold out of I keep waiting. I just had my 3rd back surgery in August and still have pain every single day.
I'm now in the "enjoy life while I still can" mode. I figure there has to be a big buck or there on one of these ranches that I can get a chance at with 14 points.
