Unit 231, Nevada

Have a mule deer tag for Unit 231, Nevada. Live in Alaska. Long way away to pre scout for the August bow season. Can anyone out there recommend an area of the unit to concentrate on?

Pine Creek Outfitters!!! They know this unit very well and take some of the largest bucks in the unit each year. Trevor and his crew know there stuff!!

Thanks, but even if I could afford it, I prefer hunting on my own, that is with my family and friends. My son will be on this hunt with me. We love to explore new country, so guess I'll take my chances.

I'm in the same boat. I'm not from Alaska, but my wife is from Fairbanks. I'll be making a 2-3 scouting trips up there from Vegas before the hunt in August. Hoping someone can give me an idea of where to start. I'll report back and share what I see and I'd be happy to combine efforts and share knowledge.

Not yet, but my wife's family still lives up there and her brother that is here in Vegas has gone a few times to help on sheep and caribou hunts. We're up in Fairbanks and Juneau about once a year.

I can also offer some info. I did accompany a buddy with a Mule deer tag a few years back. We had a base camp and packed into a couple of areas.

I drew 213 deer rifle this year. Really looking for something special. Any info/pics is appreciated. Really want to do some homework then get out and scout.
