Sorry, missed your question. This 130 can be a sleeper unit, and is a little weather dependent sometimes, but not always. The Type 1 hunt is 2 weeks later, and with only 2 dozen tags every year is managed for an older age class deer. Don't harvest too many. Some of the biggest deer I have seen in WY have been around Pinedale, and the genetics are close to G and H deer. The broken coulees out in the Sandy are fun to hunt and lots of open country to glass. Yes, they had a bad winter, same as all of us. The final tally for mortality will be 100% fawns and 10-30% adults, same as us here in Idaho but I believe there are still big ones to be had. The storms in early and mid-November started them down range soon enough to not get trapped. Several experienced and knowledgeable outfitter friends try for this tag every year, and there must be a reason 600-700 residents try every year in the draw.

130 is a good tag to have and it will have same genetics as H cause it's part of H. A majority of the deer migrate from further north down there to winter. Congrats to the ones that have drawn. Should still be some big bucks to have even after this winter!!

I drew G but the fellow M&M'r with 1 point that was going Group with me cheapie fee never did finally apply......

So instead of sharing my 11 points I went in solo with my 11 points....crazy.

Maybe it's a good thing he didn't apply as you needed more than 6 points to guarantee a tag in Regular draw.

Congrats on the G tag. While a person isn't going to see as many deer in G or H this year, the reduction in tags should make for a much less crowded hunt. Most NR's hit that place harder than most resident hunters, IMO.

Man, wish I had known. I would have gone in with you with a few points. Makes it nice going in with a couple of guys on a hunt instead of solo, in my mind. Good luck! Wyoming is my favorite state to hunt. Cant wait to get back.

I've been up twice already hiking/scouting Mid-May before I decided to apply and again in Mid-June lot's of velvet out on my June trip.

Hey Russ----I'll be bow hunting muleys and elk Sept4---15th if your son wants to hang with me in my camp.

101 deer for my party. We'll probably just shoot some prairie dogs and have have some picnics cause there aren't any deer in there. My dream tag though and couldn't be happier!
