Wyoming points

I just purchased point number 10 for deer in Wyoming, and it got me thinking....... How long should I wait to hunt Wyoming, is it worth it to keep gathering points, what units can I draw next year with 10 points, should I put in with my Dad and split my points, should I wait and put in with my oldest son in three years when he can hunt, should I have white or wheat bread and should I change the oil in the truck or just wait until it hits 5000 miles...... Lots to think about.

my philosophy is, as im sure a few others is, i would rather hunt more and wait less. i wouldve burned them by now. look into your draw odds on the better units, or subscribe to gohunt or epic outdoors or huntin fool, something of that sort to do some research.

+1. Not sure any unit is worth 10 points right now in wyoming.

Split your points and go hunt next year with your dad in region G or H, or do the same with your son in three years.

This is a good plan, my dad is not getting any younger and I don't know how many trips to the high country his knees have left.

I'd rather hunt 160-170 deer every 1-2 years than a 190" every 10+ years.

But the real dilemma is smooth or krunchy p-nut butter!!

Yep, burn points and go hunt with your Dad next year! That is what I would do anyway.

I will have 9 for deer and Elk, just wasting $ on points I think if not at max. I was gonna burn deer this year. Should have now that I didn't get drawn here in AZ. I will be 61 in Sept so I am not getting any where. I have deer figured out just don't know where to go for Elk. Any suggestions for next year? Thanks .....BULL!

Lots of guys in your same situation. I'm not far behind you and I feel like getting more points is getting me nowhere. Ide say, if your 2 or more points below max, might just want to party up with a son or family member and burn them on say a Reg. G tag or one of the other 3 to 6 point units around the state. Could potentially be spending more points than are needed, but that's how things are right now in WY. I want out of the points game, so I can try and hunt 0 and 1 point units every or every other year in WY.
