Score???

I'm not a numbers guy, but this one has me curious. Found this old man scouting, and yes he's big enough for me, but some people I've shown have thrown some pretty hefty numbers out there. Thought maybe some of you veterans could give a better idea. Sorry for my horrible pictures, I'm a hunter not a photographer.

No way you can tell a score from those pics but I can tell he is a big S.O.B though.

I'm not good at estimating scores either. But when I'm hunting, I usually have 3 categories for deer.

1) Ahh. Ain't he cute. In a few years he might be a good one.
2) Is he a shooter? Maybe. Maybe not.
3) OMG!!! SHOOT! SHOOT!

On my hunt, this fellow is a category 3!! :D

I agree, can't tell it all from the pics, but you can tell enough to know he's a beast.

Anywhere from 185-230" typical! He could be the new World Record! If I had to guess, I would go with a 199" typical frame.

I'm with everyone on pics are too blurry to really tell other than it's a hog. I wouldn't be surprised if its 200"+ but it's hard to say with the clarity of the pics.

Dude, were you using a 1960's Kodak instamatic or just shaking too much for some clear photos? Hard to tell but that is a shooter for most anybody I reckon, 195"?

Blurry as the pics are it's hard to tell but that's a helluva deer. He looks to have a 200 type frame.

As everyone above already said, there is no way of guessing a score from those pics. That being said, that is a once in a lifetime dear!

Just curious what are the scores that are being thrown at you by the people you talked about above?

200-210" straight typical is what I keep hearing. I don't really care what he scores, i just don't want to sound like the guy that always sees the 400" (really 350") bull.

Score, Wouldn't matter, He would be trigger tripper for sure. Huge looking frame.

I would not be at all surprised to see that deer go at or over the 200" mark. It is just very hard to tell from the video and pics that you have of him.

One thing to remember is they don't get that big by being dumb usually... You may never see him again as we start getting closer to September. I know for me I love having great footage of big deer in there summer homes, weather I end up killing them or not! That being said, I would look into getting some good equipment and trying to get some great footage of him if that is possible for you. That way weather you are able to kill him or not you will always have that footage!

And I hear you 100% about not being the 400" bull guy!!

I'm an expert at judging deer from that quality of image's...all of mine are like that! Even my up close kill shots!!
Seriously you are Not that guy....That is a BIG mule deer..Hope you get him.

PS. From your Handel I think you should buy some Herford Bulls.. ha ha.

I found him 2 days in a row within a mile. Fortunately I have a August 19 archery tag for the unit. If I can only keep the silver Jeep Liberty from following me and "scout poaching" the deer I find I might have a decent shot. I found other deer that I believe could go over 200", but they are great deer with a bunch of trash, kickers and inlines to get them there. This one is just a clean monster and is the one that makes me lose sleep regardless of score.

I agree he's a stud and you should definitely go after him. I always guess my score before I read the comments and I'm confident this buck is at least in the mid 190's, and he could be bigger.

If you are seeing bucks like this, don't worry about the camera. Save your money for a taxidermy bill.

Be sure to post pics after you stack him up.

Best of luck.

I am waitin for Angus to tell us he is kidding and that is his kid's watercolor painting from art class.

Seriously though, ppfffttttt!
