That is funny! Atleast he died in a pile of hay. Every deer wishes for a death like that.

I told y'all I'd get him one way or the other.
So what if my truck has a dented fender and a busted headlight. That bad boy is going to my 'dermist!
Would you guys do a lifesize or just a shoulder mount?

No they are hurrying to social media to hashtag themselves in the photo.

One of the extremely anxious and pumped up Hunter's probably moved in on him a little early and spooked him out into the road.

He ran into the side of the Tacoma? Holy crap that is a collision!

Which group was chasing him to a field they had permission to hunt tomorrow?

I Knew He Wouldn't make it till Opening Day!

I Hope They Pull the PUTER out of that YOTA & See if He Hit the Gas or the Brake Pedal!:D:D:D

yep....she's on ft right now with the valley girls she left in LA telling them about this big "elky" looking thing that hit her car....wanting to know who in the state to call to get her car fixed.

A sad ending for those of us waiting to see what kind of chaos tomorrow would bring. No fist fights, no coin tosses, kind of a lackluster finish really. I might of guessed he would meet his fate at the hands of a flatbrimmer style truck. Seriously though, that buck is definitely a one of a kind.

Personally, I'm not amused at all. That could have been the biggest buck in the state this year. Could have ended up someone's lifetime trophy. Could have gone in the record books. Instead, it'll hang on a wall owned by the same government that restricts hunting. It's a total shame. ???

I need a place to hunt tomorrow.....my #1 gen season buck I'd been watching just got it but here by Toyota Tacoma..... i'm not looking for anyone is honey hole or nothing just kind of a general starting spot Will do.....

Come on BrowningRage, to say that it's a shame that the buck is going to end up on the wall of the same government "that restricts hunting" is a tad dramatic don't ya think?

How about we turn over the public lands and all the game "that is restricted" to private hands? Seriously man, who else is going to pony up and manage this stuff? Y'all say the "gov't" issues too many tags and the deer are disappearing and in the next breath you are being restricted by 'em? Some of this stuff is laughable.

Hunt Hard. Shoot Straight. Kill Clean. Apologize to No One.

Poor guy wish that friendly fire would have taken out a couple more Facebook shed heros but seriously that sucks a complete waste of conservation.

It is a fact that the DNR restricts hunting. That is what they do.

But, you took my post wrong. I'm upset the DNR gets this amazing animal.

I guess I should blame the buck for hitting a truck though...

So I guess Zac Griffith was there . Aka the red pants. ?? Well with all of that traffic surrounding him . It was bound to happen. I was thinking thats how he broke off that big sticker on the right side. Had to be side swiped by a car. It's kind a sad . I was hoping he would have at least made it to opening morning. ?

LAST EDITED ON Aug-19-17 AT 01:37PM (MST)[p]So who bumped this deer and caused it to run across the road into the side of a pickup the day before hunting season? Looking at the damage to the vehicle, it couldn't have been walking! Granted, I wasn't there but the chatter on other social media claims the deer was being pushed. Any witnesses that can vouch?

I've seen the line of cars along the road who were constantly watching this deer. Someone had to have seen the accident

Bess cool your jets!! I was already working on blacktop camo with either white or yellow lines, depending on terrain. Now you blew phase 2, haybale. Here's a hint, phase 3 is Kentucky blue grass. In currently taking applications at the gym for a roided up clothing model. Be debuting at $fw expo this spring.

Somebody said they was bailing hay on the side of the road he came from, and that's what spooked him.

I watched the rumors start about somebody pushing him, it started with "I bet somebody was pushing him" to "I herd somebody was pushing him" to "yeah some A$$holes were in there pushing him" I watched this progress throughout the day. Its Fake News people don't let them make up a narrative.

I have yet to see somebody say they witnessed anybody pushing him, its all been speculation.

Just my observations on the subject.

Why did the giant buck cross the road?.......... Because he didn't want to get harvested by some kuiu wearing, Swarovski glassing, diesel driving, outfitter hiring, flat brimmed wearing expert hunter, or want to be plastered all over the world wide web in a "hunting" picture, being long armed with twelve other flat brimmed hunters/spotters/watchers/babysitters sitting on top of his back, smiling with unusually white teeth, with a outfitter logo plastered on the picture, causing all sorts of controversy over whether he was shot on private land or public, in season or before, or after season. He also didn't want internet experts trying to figure out what his actual gross score was, with or without velvet, and why or why not the velvet should be stripped, causing controversies over whether outfitted hunts were actually hunts, or if the diy guy was worthy of such a trophy because he didn't have eight wildgame nation trail cameras with six years of the bucks growth on record, or with five years of his shed antlers on his Instagram page. So....he decided to just save everyone the hassle, and the side of the Toyota Tacoma looked like a good place to do a face plant.
My lord, what has social media done to hunting?

Hey I wear Kuiu. I have Swarovski glass......but I'll never drive a diesel nor will I wear a flatty. They don't all go together.

I wasn't ther to watch the buck get hit, but last Sunday night some clown on a dirt bike pushed him out and chased him with his camera, just to take some pics

I Got word from a Perty Reliable source that said They Were Pushing Him!

But I Can't Prove it so Maybe I Shouldn't of said anything!

I've seen 2000 yard shots.Ive seen sheep killed in wrong units and not get popped.I've seen the Payson buck run into the side of a truck.Uh uh hum.I love utard.

I can still add about 5 versus.lol

Unless you can call farmers getting hay out of the field pushing...... the conspiracy theories are strong with this one, but in reality it's just bad timing and luck.

So was there any proof to the antler being shot? Or was it just wild speculation as to what happened?

I'll stir the soup. Doyle Moss posted a photo of the deer the day it died. ? Coincidence ?

My neighbor was right behind the Tacoma and watched it all happen. Buck was not being pushed, just decided to cross the highway back to where he's been for the last 3 or 4 weeks. East bound car stopped just in time to avoid hitting the buck, then the buck ran around that car and jumped right into the side of the Tacoma. The driver was injured, bleeding and hit right in the head HARD. Probably either the deer's antler or head butt... :) Seriously though the guy was hurt pretty bad and had to be taken to the hospital in the ambulance. Back to the deer, it smashed into the door if this guys truck, dropped like a sack of potatoes in the middle of the road, then a few seconds later jumped up, ran over and jumped the fence then ran about 30yds and tipped over dead. Broken neck is what the DWR are saying.

I'm only posting this for 2 reasons. Don't blame the guy that hit the deer. He did absolutely nothing wrong. The other reason is I also heard the rumors start within seconds of him being hit about someone pushing the buck but according to those that saw it happen nobody was pushing him. At least not anyone very close by anyway.

Oh and I talked with the DWR officer that scored the buck. I don't remember exactly what he told me but said he was something like 230 gross typical and 260 gross non-typical. Funny how many "experts" were saying things like, "I don't know what the big deal is. That buck will be lucky to break 200 inches"... That's funny! If ever win the lottery and am rich enough to pay for a guide to help me shoot a GIANT buck I'm not having them guide me! :)
