Opening Morning Buck

Saturday morning I went into my area solo and had this buck down by 6:45. It was a really quick hunt and I was happy to get this tall 4x4. You couldn't ask for better scenery to be in and a more beautiful morning, only one more year till archery season!

It is my only big game hunt of the year this year. I have family with big bull elk tags, but the last few years I have gotten sick of the circus big game hunting in Utah has become. I mostly chase predators so there will be many more days in the field for me but mostly chasing coyotes.

I do have a lot of points for other states though, deer and elk.. But with the winter we had last year I decided to keep building points to wait and see the damage.

Awesome. It does make for a quick hunt. However, hunting them coyotes are right up there on the exciting chart!!! Well done on the deer and the coyotes.

I am not much of a fan of the e callers even though I do own a few. I think the sounds get over played in a lot of places especially in Utah. With the hand calls every person sounds unique.

You are not the first one to tell me they have came across that shack haha. That area gets hit hard every year, we used to really stack them up there but the last few years have gotten tougher.

That same day there were a few other groups out there calling all over each other.

Definitely agree about getting together, used to never see anyone out and about out there. Now a day's everybody is a coyote hunter.
