Deer Meat

I am lucky enough to have a freezer full of elk.
I drew a CWMU deer tag that I go to hunt the first weekend in November. With my freezer being full I was wondering if someone knows anyone that would want or need some deer meat should I shoot one?
Is there a place you can take meat that goes to Utah food bank or homeless shelters that anyone knows of either?

Got skunked this year. I would buy the deer off of you if you get one, and you are close enough we can work it out. We really like the meat and are quite bummed about going without this year.

Just to add not sure if it would be legal to sell it, but you could donate it to me, and in return I could gift $ to you.

Not legal to buy or sell privately any kind of big game meat in Utah. Even if it is a "gift". Exchange of money or anything in traded value is illegal

Donating big game
Utah Code ? 23-20-9
The following are the only places you may
donate, or give, a big game animal or its parts
to another person:
?The residence of the donor
?The residence of the recipient
?A meat locker
?A storage plant
?A meat-processing facility
A written statement of donation must
be kept with the animal or its parts. The
statement must show:
?The number and species of the wildlife or
parts donated
?The date of donation
?The permit number of the donor
?The signature of the donor

It CAN be gifted/donated, just not sold.

Bugle, I donate a couple of deer every year to an organization called Hunters feeding the hungry. The meat goes to those in need at the local food banks or the homeless shelter. It cost me $0 to donate and its a great thing to help those that normally don't get a lot of good protein in their diet. In Utah try Farmers and Hunters feeding the hungry. Same type of Org that I described. You can donate your deer at Arnolds Wild Game Processing up in the Ogden area. https://www.fhfh.org

I love wild game meat, but it is MUCH cheaper to go buy store meat. I hunt for the comaraderi and sport of it. And, if I am lucky, then I get to enjoy the meat and share it with my grateful friends. The original poster to this thread said he killed an elk and his freezer is full... and then he went on to offer the meat to you (since you hunt only for the meat), anyone else, or a charity. That was awfully nice of him!
Do you only hunt to put meat on your table?
Would you give up a Henry Mtn tag if your freezer was full?
Let's please be realistic and support or fellow hunters.
I have never shot a deer, just to take its life...but I have often shared my deer meat! This is all this hunter was suggesting...and offering.
Be kind.

Why would you eat meat when you can sustain yourself on tofu? Are animals not worth more than a soy bean? As long as you're on the high horse, enlighten us with how you consume the brain, intestines, and other parts the rest of us heathens waste in complete disregard for the worth of a deer's life.

Sure are some judgmental people on this site. Bugle Is doing what he feels is right. By the way... there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with donating a deer to someone thats hungry and cant afford to buy groceries or meat.
