Southern Idaho Mule Deer Rut

Anybody know if the majority of the mule deer in south eastern idaho are already done rutting? Near Pocatello. My dad is scouting and the hunt starts in 3 days and he saw 20 does today and no bucks which obviously has me worried. Anyways just wondering if anyone is aware of if they are still rutting in southern Idaho. Going to be bummed if they are already done before the hunt starts ...

My buddy had a late tag in the central part of the state. I saw lots of does withoout bucks. I think they are just getting started. If we found a hot doe, several bucks would be with her....

Looks like a nice buck. You should still see plenty of rutting activity for the next week. I would still be looking for bucks like they are rutting. Good luck

The rut started here 2 1/2 -3 weeks ago. It has already peaked and is definitely in post rut. Sure, there is a few hot does left, so you will still see some bucks rutting into December but not much. When you see 90-100 does a day and see 1-2 bucks kind of rutty on a handful of hot does, I would say that the rut is coming to a close generally speaking. I'm just speaking for the unit I just hunted.
Plus seeing herds and herds of 10-20 does with no bucks in it speaks for itself as well.
