LAST EDITED ON Mar-08-18 AT 12:10PM (MST)[p]I am looking for a little help on units. I originally planned for 62 3rd but things came upo and now i have 5-6 pts i cant remember i think 5 anyway I dont wanna burn them on 62 now. SO I have narrowed down some units i can draw now up til another 2or so years. decisions based on points and public land access.

2nd units i guess considered more premium uits just the tougher seasons
44,61,55,21,67

3rd season 68,63

4th season
80,79,77,501( really curious on 501 because I love hunting burn areas)

Anything you can give would be great! I am not asking for spots just which units give me the best chance at a 170+ buck/mature bucks
I would rather see a few less deer and less hunters than a lot of deer and tons of hunters. I prefer the PJ and sage but am not opposed to anything.( something about a big buck in the pjs gets me going)

Thanks guys! pms welcome and email is [email protected]

2nd season can be somewhat frustrating in most Colo units. Bucks are pretty much hiding out unit the rut/snow drives them to winter ranges. Some areas (44 as an example) may have super low numbers of deer during 2nd season....one reason it is easier to draw. It can be frustrating putting in hours of glassing and boot leather only seeing a few bucks. If you are willing to put in time there is always the chance of finding a whopper in just about all the units you mentioned. You may want to keep in mind that many of the units you mentioned have OTC elk hunters....which can also be super frustrating. There are likely fewer elk hunters during the 4th season but a shorter season doesn't give you much time to mess around.
