This is the 3rd year my wife hasn't draw a general deer tag in utah. I'm tired of waiting to see her kill her first buck. Looking to find a fun otc hunt for her. Anyone willing to share some units to look into? Thanks in advance!!

There are always elk tags that are OTC. Can be a great hunt. There are no OTC deer tags in Utah, only left over tags that were not consumed by the draw. There are historically archery tags left over in Box Elder and maybe some in the Ogden and Morgan-South Rich units. You may find a left over Muzzle loader tag on the Box Elder unit, but we wont know what tags are left over after the draw for a little while longer. There are also Cow elk tags and Doe deer/antelope tag application periods pending. I put My wife in for points points points! Then when she says she wants to go we put her in and can typically draw herself a decent tag.

What area is she trying for? Some are worth the wait

If you are willing to go out of state that leaves you idaho for deer and elk and Colorado for elk that I'm the most familiar with. Idaho has to be one of my favorite over the counter hunts for deer that are left now a day. Lots of units on the south east end of the state offer some pretty darn good hunting for OTC. The elk hunts might not be quite as desirable however. Colorado has a ton of OTC elk units and every time I hunt deer third season I run into bulls. I would go Idaho for deer. Shoot me a PM and I can try to give you a few suggestions. Here?s a few ok bucks from general idaho.
Last years 170 buck

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...
