NEVADA MULE ANTLERED MULE DEER TAG UNIT 161-164 TAG

Hello Everyone!

I am a NV resident and I finally pulled a buck tag! Unit 161-164 in October. I am used to hunting whitetail in the Midwest (bow/gun) and I know this type of hunting is more glassing, spot & stalk, etc. Just getting advice on the area for that time of year. I know if it is snowing around that time that definitely helps the situation & usually and the hotter it is the higher you may need to go etc. Is there a need to get a guide or is this obtainable to do solo as a first time Western mule deer hunt? Are pack horses/mules essential etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am very excited! Thanks!

More then likely if you spend a few weekends scouting you should be able to turn up 160" bucks but then you need to decide is it worth it to pay a guide to possiably shoot a 170 buck.I won't say they couldn't find you a better buck but you don't see many guides advertising that unit with 180 to 200" bucks it's not the norm.
