Would any of you anchor this buck if given the chance?

Do you think he'll break 180 when done growing (mid-July video)? He's the best of about 175 bucks I've looked at this year. Big ones are rare!

Yup, I think hes worthy and if he isn't 180 by the time hes done id be surprised

"I'll see you all this coming fall in the Big Rock Candy Mountains!"

Maybe with the rarity of the big bucks, maybe Wyoming should cut Non Res tags in half again..... and still go unlimited to the residents. All of us non res hunters are killing all the bucks!

Good luck this year!
Thats a decent buck. He should reach 180. Great front ends.

Glad to see Penny doing good. That was a close call!!

I think he is going to end up right there close to 180 depending on how much he puts on on the back tines. If not much more, then he'll be just short. I don't see much on eyeguards from that video, so doubt he can get to the mid-high 180s. Real good solid buck that would be a shooter for most.

Seems like every year around this time you're complaining that you can't find a big buck to hunt and then in about a month you'll turn up a slob for us to drool over.

As far as this buck going 180+, it all depends on how he finishes. He's got quite a bit to go if he's gonna stretch the tape that far, but anything is possible. My guess is that this buck won't even be an afterthought by the middle of August once you come across The Right Buck.

I know I am always the wet blanket around here but I don't see him getting there. I think he could go in the high 170s but I just can't see him getting above 180.

Glad you're having fun.

Ha Ha, I hope you're right Fauntleroy! We shall see. Would sure be fun to find something really special. There's got to be at least one up there somewhere.

Fork aren't very deep for a 180 buck.IMO
But who knows throw a couple inches of growth on those forks he will make it then.

In my opinion he won't make 180 this year. A little shallow in the back, nothing down low, and light in the mass. Give him a year or two and he might turn into a buck worthy of of the pack out.

I love this time of year when bucks start to get to the verge of ?nice? or ?wow? and either get classified as a shooter or not.

I wish I had a G or H tag this year, but I will be headed out in a couple weeks to stretch out the lungs in the thin air and get in some scouting with my two youngest sons before they head off to college and hopefully find a couple ?wow? bucks!!!

I Agree!

But that Don't & Won't Happen Much anymore!

The Buck is probably a 3K-6K PISSCUTTER in today's World!

LAST EDITED ON Jul-20-18 AT 10:40PM (MST)[p]Looks like he decent Mainbeams good front forks. The back Forks seem to Fork pretty high and very little eye guards. In my opinion I think he will have to add some serious length on his back to get 180. I'm guessing he will fall just short but I am no expert. I know that I would be shooting him opening morning if I saw him. I have only seen 1 buck as big as him on a general unit during the hunt on public land.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-21-18 AT 00:15AM (MST)[p]close enough for me.....

hey Brian, what are you using to film your deer this year? Your videos seem clearer than previous years. I'm starting to think that the phone scope on the spotter might not be cutting it anymore....

Same setup as always. Swarovski 65mm and Nikon S6300 point-n-shoot. I've tried the phone thing and don't like it.
This last trip the bucks were just good models and no smoke from forest fires this year!!

not 180"

He isn't even the best buck you filmed on this trip, but of course I think you already know this founder. The other buck that does have some serious growing to still do with the nice cheater on the drivers side mainbeam.... Yea I would say he will top that 180" mark pretty easily.
