Dedicated Hunter question

Just found out I need back surgery on the 24th of Aug. This year is my last year of the DH program and I have a tag to fill. Will the DWR work with me and let me skip this year and hunt next?? Anyone experience anything like this??

I'd for sure contact the DWR. I think with a doctor's note you can petition hardship and I've heard of them working with people before.
