How wide do you think this deer is?

Average ear to ear length is 22 inches. So I'd guess him to extend about 2 inches on each side which would bring him to 26 inches wide

I would say 26? Although he extends past his ears he appears to be a Young Deer with smaller ears.

25" MAX!

27" he a little wider high in the rack then at the bottom of his rack. IMO

Young deer. 6" on the head, 6" each ear makes 18. A hair more than 4" past each ear. I'll say 27.

I would guess 29". I think most are under guessing his width. He is at least 28" wide. If you end up tagging him this year don't forget to come back and post some pictures as well as how wide he actually is.

25-26?

Deer always look bigger and wider with velvet antlers. Looks like a smaller deer head and body. The ears might not even be 22 inches wide. 24-26 inches. I think most would be disappointed if they were banking on a 27-28 inch buck or bigger.

I have always heard that the distance from ear tip to ear tip on a mature muley is about 24" (not sure how accurate that assumption is). This buck appears to be about 2-3 inches beyond each ear (both sides). So, I would venture a guess of 28-29 outside spread.

Cool looking buck. Thanks for sharing.

Cool deer! I'm no expert but if I had to guess I would say 21.5"-22.5" inside. I have always heard a mature mule deer has around a 20"-22" inch ear spread. I'm not sure if that is true or not? When was this picture taken? If he had some more time to grow it would be cool to see how he finished out.

What's your point?
Were you really serous with your 22" guess?
I was joking with my 32" guess. That's why I put "hehe" at the end.
Anyway, I'd be willing to bet a brand new rifle that that bucks outside spread is closer 27" than it is 22" wide.

(Get ready for change because it's going to happen!)

In the pic he looks to be balled up a little still. If he hangs out another 1/4"-1/2" each side when finished growing I fear you would win that bet! But not by much.

After watching that clip, I believe 27 to 27 1/2 will be spot on.
So yea I will stay with my 1st guess.

I'm going to stay with my original estimate. 29? outside spread. He is at least 28? wide. He flares out on the top which will give him more outside spread than he would appear to have at first glance. However, there are many 24? bucks I would shoot over him. Even when he is finished growing I don't think he is going to gross any better than 160?. With my general season Idaho tag and my southern NM tag I would have a hard time passing on him this year. With my Wyoming tag I'm willing to pass without much hesitation.
He is a nice buck, I hope you get him if you are hunting for him.
