Are the Federal lead BOR Lock conical bullets legal in Idaho? There is confusion whether they are or not because of the tip and the plastic ring. I was wondering if anyone out there could confirm that they are or are not legal.

I have asked 3 different CO's here and got differing answers. One said no, because it is not all-lead. One said yes because it was full caliber and not in a sabot, the seal was just like the PowerBelts. He also allows the Aerolites which have a plastic tip.

The last said he wasn't sure and didn't know if the main office had made an official decision. He wouldn't cite anyone because it wouldn't be worth the effort.

I haven't ever pursued it up the chain, because I really don't know if I want the answer.

If you look at the regs...it's pretty clear... it states ?Loaded with a patched round ball or conical non-jacketed projectile comprised wholly of lead or lead alloy.?

WHOLLY of lead or lead alloy doesn't seem to allow plastic to me??? I don't see how you could question that??

Powerbelt does make an all lead bullet...

The plastic on the power belt comes off their bullets so as long as you use all lead powerbelts you are legal. Sorry I don't know if the same rule would apply to the OP question.
