My 13 year old was finally rewarded with this buck after passing the buck I shot on the opener. (see "archery opener success" post). I have never killed anything with my muzzleloader and 2 of my kids have done very well with it. We got it Saturday night, one shot 78 yards double lung shot. I did have to wake him up to shoot it but hey thats what dads are for. Also he got a his first elk this year with his bow. Just a cow but dang is this kid lucky!

My two older boys went just as much as he does but as soon as they turned 16 they found better things to do. I have a small window with this one and we are trying to make the most of it before he discovers he has a choice on going with or chasing life at home.

We get a little lost around 16. But ALWAYS come back. Just gotta wait a few years for the hormones to settle out....

Success in that volume for a 13 year old is more than luck!!!

Great muzzy buck for anyone. Congrats to your son and thanks to you for making another hunter. And don't worry about those 16-20 old folks. As has been said, they'll return to hunting soon.

Great job!
