I know this is a last ditch effort but my buddy and I have 2nd season mule deer tags and our other friend has a 3rd season. We have been scouting quite a bit and have been pretty disappointed with what we are seeing. We had heard good things about this unit previously and knew as well that it has been struggling due to bad winters and the lack there of but figured we'd try it anyway. We?ve been from 14000ft to around 8000 and haven't seen anything to get real excited about. If anyone is willing to share advice or previous years experience it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Keep at it, 55 still holds big bucks. Any of those units do, hard winter or not. Depending on weather and their internal mechanism, they will be at different stages in their migration. Oakbrush can suck to hunt but split up and cover from hell to breakfast, low to snow. You?ll find a pattern of where the deer are.

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

No tracks in snow, hunt lower until you find tracks in the mud.
The oakbrush jungle is hard to hunt, but use your glass and look under them and might see legs, then try and pick out the top half of the deer.
