I drew hunt 278A in Southeastern Oregon this year for rifle bull elk. I can hunt units 66,67,68,69,70,71,73. Can anyone tell me what areas are good? As a non-resident I probably won't be lucky enough to draw a tag like this again. I would appreciate any info on this area.

It appears no one is going to help so I'll give you one suggestion...Call the state game dept and ask to talk to the game biologist for those particular areas.. They are usually very helpful...I hope this helps and good luck....Keith.

If I learned one thing that I can pass on to you is .. pay attention to the posted properties and respect landowner rights. We had some poachers hunting our land on the last day of bow season (elk)elk herd caught someones wind and fled and those assbags had the gall to act offended that their hunt was ruined.

i hunt oreon alot, but have necer hunted that part of the state. u will have to hunt your ass off though, there is no timber out there, it is all sagebrush, mahogany, juniper. good buck and goat country, but not much for elk. in the areas where there are elk the spend lots of time in idaho, and not much in oregon. the farther north u go, the more elk there should be. i dont know units buy the numbers, just by the names so fogive me if im wrong, but see it, ochoco, desolation, or purty much anypart of grant county is in there, i will show u some pics, and give u etails if u name the units for me.

Later Yall!!!!
