Well if everything goes right in the draw for 2004, it seems that I may draw a limited entry archery elk hunt in the following units over this time frame: Panguitch Lake ( draw in 2004 ), Monroe ( 1.4 years to draw ), and San Juan ( 2.2 years to draw ).
What unit would you guys lean towards and why? Would you take the Wasatch or Manti units if they have limited entry archery tags on them in 2004 over the units listed above. I am in good shape and can cover alot of area if needed.
Looking for a 320 to 350 bull and figure this will be my once in a lifetime for elk in Utah.
Thanks for your help!

If you want a area that has huge numbers of elk. The Wasatch and Manti is the place and the country is rough and perfect for somebody who wants to get away from the crowds. It would be a easy place to bag a good bull. I don't know much about San Juan unit. Monroe has some good bulls and some good country with easy access. Panguitch Lake is a Plateau and very few good spoting locations. Monroe and Panguitch herds are small compared to most places with big bulls unlike Wasatch or Manti.

Any of these units have the type of bull you are after. Go after the one with the best odds and the closest unit to where you live so you can get out and do a little scouting.

I think that you could get the best quality bull off of the monroe, you could definately get a 350 bull, and the chance at bigger.
