Just arrived home and thought I would let everyone know that we were successful on the elk hunt. We were up in the High Uintah Wilderness on the North Slope. At 7:50 am on opening morning I called in a 6x6 bull. My nephew was set up perfect and the bull came in straight on to him. He had to wait until the bull was 30 yards from him before the bull turned enough to give him the shoulder shot I had previously told him to take. This was my nephews first elk hunt, what a way to start elk hunting. Even if I would have had a video camera, I wouldn't have been able to get much of it on film, it was so thick with pines I only seen a flash of the bull after he was shot. The bull only went 40 yards before going down. As soon as I get the pictures onto the computer, I'll see if I can get them posted for all to see.
