they did it again! this bull i saw yesterday. i took one picture then lost him in the viewfinder. i panned around and didn't see it. when i took the camera down he almost stepped on me! i jumpped off the trail and yelled "woh bull!!" i could have poked it in the eye. one more step and he would have stepped on me. when i got home and saw the picture of him he to had his head in a tree. i can't get a picture of ones head to save my a**.

this bull was not the 7x8 i've been watching but he was 7 on the left side didn't have time to count the other. i tried to push him to allen, but some how he got around me.
sorry chester, but damb i wish i had that damb tag.then to add insalt to injury two people who put in with allen are not even going to hunt. that was moseley and my tag not even going to be used.I will not ever forget this season though, i could have killed more bulls than most elk hunters ever see.
he stopped my heart for a full 30 seconds i sware! he spooked me getting that close and this is rifle season. he walked staight at me and his nose was at arms reach. i could have done the three stooges and poked him in the eye and sead 'oh a wise guy ay".

They are not going to use them? Heck, those should have been our tags. Have you heard if anybody has got a big one up their yet? I hope their is still some left for the next time we draw.
Michael

opening morning allen found bloody tracks where the 7x8 was at daylight befor leagle shooting light and thinks someone wounded the 7x8 the night befor the season he hasn't been seen sence.
the big 6x6 my have been the big bull taken last saterday all i heard was it was a big bull taken on the end of the first ridge but there where sevaral over there so i'm hoping it wasn't the white horned big 6 i don't know with out seeing it allen missed a big 6 with dark horns that same day i think it was bull fever
this bull is a 7 on one side but its not the 7x8 i dont think the top point was in the wrong place and lined up with the other points the 7x8's tip out and can be seen clearly when he looks at you this ones point looked smaller and in line. the only other elk hunters i've seen where hunting cows.

Was the 6 taken the one with the broken tines? He would be a good bull my dad says if those tines were not broke. I hope we draw next year.
Michael

could have been him or the short tine bull is big too. all i heard was a big 6x6. i hope there big is average size 6 and not the white horned big 6 or the pritty horned one with the broken tines. next year without those broken tines he will be a great bull. the big 6 and the 7x8 have to make the season so we can get them next year.

LOL sorry guys but I just gotta laugh, you guys are related, and I'm sure you know eachothers phone numbers. and you use the message board to tell eachother stories. not trying to bash or offend you at all it's just funny. Cmiddleton, I'm sure you'll get a picture of a bulls head sometime. I am envios that you guys are seeing elk. I have one of the best elk tags wyoming has to offer this year, and I havn't seen a good bull during the season. in fact I've only seen 4 elk all together. Pretty frustrateing as I am sure I will never draw the tag again. I'd like to talk to you about some whitetail area's on your side of the state. I'll send you a private email. Good luck

CHESTER

Yeah, we have each others numbers, but I work nights, all night, so he is asleep most of the time when I am at work and awake. NE ways, we have seen this bulls head, just can't get a pic. Sucks about the area, I know how it feels to get skunked. NE ways, never hunted any whitey around here. There are some good ones out by Douglas I here though. Well, glad to here from you Chester, thought you were gone. Glad you are on talking terms w/us.
Michael

Where Is this? Just curious. Just a general area. Are you guys in AZ.?
Jeremy

chester the best whitetails are in the black hills they are general areas and open all november the black hills national forest is great hunting and not nearly as steep as you county easy hunting but remember to walk less look more go to hunt thanksgiving weekend when the rut is in full swing.
if you can try ratteling then sit quite find the does then watch them a buck will show up they get real dumb
if you go earlyer still rattle and grunt but they are not going to be as big as those muleys up by aftan a 18" buck is a good one for that area.
sorry about your elk how long is the season we might get some weather this weekend that might help you find old granddaddy elk
this season here runs tell the 25 of nov for bulls then go's to cows tell dec 10th.
i never get to see mike jr anymore he's working or sleeping for work only got to hunt one time during bowseason with him this year i told those boys not to grow up but they did anyway now they have to work like the rest of us sorry about the spelling and puntuation but i don't have time for that stuff ha ha
good luck and good bull to you casey
