I took this bull on a public Landhunt in Alberta last week. I am very happy since this zone has an average hunter success rate of 5%. I think this is mainly due to most hunters driving roads and not actually hunting. I used a pre-64 Win M70 in 300 Win Mag 180 gr Noslers with very impressive results. I am looking forward to 10 days of trophy whitetail hunting to end the season

Battle River,

Great job!!! Especially beatin that 5% rate gettin off the roads. I'd be very proud too. Very Nice Bull! Post the Whitetail if you have success. Good luck.

Great job, cant wait to see the whitetail. Alberta doesnt require blaze orange on public land during a rifle season? Looks dangerous!

Good job, just curious where in Alberta, I was there 2 years ago to hunt, near canmore is about all I remember, hunting was very tough.

Great job on your public lands bull! Sounds like a tuff unit to hunt with that 5% sucess rate.

Alberta does not require hunter orange anymore. I found I was scoped by morons more when I wore orange. This way I am less visible and its better all around. Area is foothills in SW Alberta on Forest Reserve land. There is now 2' of snow there and my brother spotted another 55 Elk 1 mile form my kill site yesterday. As with anywhere, the less acces fopr road hunters= better elk hunting for the rest of us.
