well, my family finally killed a big bull. My cousin Jeff and i were hunting some big clearcuts on top of the Minam river, jeff was walking on top of the cliffs at the top of the canyon, and i was walking towards him from the opposite direction. i heard one shot, about 400 yards away, so i began walking in that direction. then i heard 3 shots rapidly in a row. that is our signal shot to mean i got one, so i knew he had killed something. i walked untill i had cut his tracks, and began following them.

And that's it???? Where did the tracks go, was your cousin at the end of the trail, come on, a meal is nothing without the
meat. I could care less if your cousin was dressed in a pink
bunny outfit, but tell us about the bull.

i followed his tracks for about 300 yards, untill i found where he had stood up on a stump, and an empty shell casing, i kept following his tracks, then i saw elk tracks, and blood every where! i followed the blood for about 200 yards, and saw him sitting on this elk, my uncle and his brother where there, and my jaw freaking dropped! it was an enormouse nontypical, 8x8, i have never seen such a big rack, anywhere. jeff was so excited, so was I. it took all for of us to roll it over to gut it, it was the size of a freaking hores, i ##### you not. it took us 10 hours to pack it out 1.75 miles to the road, it still hasnt hit me yet, how big that bull is. it took me and my cousin 2 hours to pack the rack and cape out, we brought it down to the hose, and started calling people to come see, this one guy, who is really into elk hunting stopped buy, he said it was bigger than his P&Y county record bull, wich wass huge, he said it was between 370 and 380, maybe up to 390. it is the biggest bull our familky has ever killed, about 80 years of hunting experience have gone into this bull, and many thousands of miles. it is jeffs first bull, first elk for that matter. he shot it with a .30/30 from 130 yards. we took lots of pics, i will post them ASAP. i have never been more proud of my 19 year old cousin, he is my best friend. he is like my brother.

imagine a typical 7x7, with the 8th point on the left coming off the royal tine, and on the right it came off of the main beam, this bull has the most incredible mass i have ever seen, it carries t all the way to the tips of the tines. the only downfall, is that the left G-3 is broken off, an old sparring break i think. this was a pretty old bull, and i kinda think he has regressed some. his tusk are wore down flat. this bulls fore head is almost bare, all the heair is worn down from rubbing trees, there are also scarrs all over his hide. the cool thing is, this is a minam drainage bull, he had just busted up over the cliffs fron a 3000 foot deep canyon when jeff shot him, the bust up over the cliffs to winter.

And to all yall who think a .30/30 isnt enough gun for an elk, you are wrong. The old lever gund did a number on that bull, completely destroyed both lungs, every time he took a breath, he spewed chunks of lung all over. he passed a tree at six feet, and at my eye level (im 6'5") there wasw chunk of lung on a tree.

This bull started out at "maybe 390" then it was "between 370-380, and now it's all the way down to 354. I'd post some pics fast before it dropes down below 300....

I agree with Slu, you had better and post some pictures before he goes under 300!

id dont know jack about scoring elk, so the 390 was a guess, 370-380 was some one elses guess, all gross score guesses, 354 4/8 is the net B/C green score. Bashall you want doesnt make it any less true. You guys sure have a way of bringin a guy down.
