There used to be a bull up in ely dubbed "Casper" He's prolly dead now. I never got to see him, people in Ely talk about him from time to time. He was an albino 8x8. 2 years ago it was rumored that casped was stuck on a bow hunt but still walking when the snow flies hit. Dad / i heard about this up on our muzzleloader hunt for elk. Never got to see him but thats sweet lookin man.
Dad has seen an Albino elk, up at strawberry. In utah. Well before my time. Only thing I've ever seen albino is rabbits, and a doe.

Its too bad someone harvested that bull so young!! It wouldve been a great looking bull once it was mature!! I actually agree with the states that protect Albino game animals. I think it was Idaho that a few years back had an albino moose that they had outlawed from being taken.....I think it would be cool to see one in the wild....

Wow, now thats purdy! Like Tuffbucker said, it would have been neat to see it mature. Hell, if it was legal, I would drop the thang. What I dont understand is why in the f- would anyone ruin a cape that pretty by CUTTING THE THROAT? Hell, all that does is ruin the cape and add one more place on the carcass for an accellerated bacteriafest. Any way, thanks for sharing the pic! It is neat to see such a rare critter.

I snapped a photo of a spike this weekend that has some albino traits to him. He's not white like these others but obviously much lighter than the rest of the herd. Anyone care to assist with posting the photo?

While it would be really cool to see an albino deer/moose/elk etc I don't understand why states would outlaw the harvest of albino game animals. Why would you want to protect a genetically inferior animal?

The only sad thing is is that that bull is not an albino he's just white. to be a true alnimo he must have pink eyes and a pinkish tint to his skin in the ears. but either way i would have dumped him in a heartbeat.

Cass- Old Casper survived this year's archery hunt, but took an arrow to the shoulder. The mechanical broadheat failed to open and he limped for a considerable time. I saw videotape of him, and last year he was a 6X6. Word is his rack is bigger this year.
