This is my first bull ever. He was taken with a muzzleloader at 40 yards after stalking him for about 3 hours and getting a couple of lucky breaks along the way. The first shot sailed harmlessly over his back (too much adrenaline) but he didn't budge so I reloaded and the second one connected. We saw lots of bulls including one alot bigger but with both brow tines and both fifths broken off. Can't wait to go after number two!

That's a dandy! Nice work. He actually stuck around to let you reload and get a second shot? Unbelievable!

I can tell you that I don't have that kind of fortune.

Cheers,
Pete

What an amazing first bull. Did you shoot it on private land, public, or on a guided hunt? It really doesn't matter, that is a great bull.

Damn fine bull, congrats! You are one lucky bastard that he stuck around. Good job!

Man thats a good looking bull~~ He so so semetrical, almost like a mirror!! I'm going into '04 with 6 pts on elk in Nv. maybe just maybe...........maybe not!

Thanks all. He was taken in area 22 on public land and I was really lucky he gave me another shot. In fact he looked away from me like he heard the bullet hit something then he went back to feeding. I've talked to a couple of experienced muzzleloader hunters who say they react differently to a ML shot that a rifle shot. I wonder if it sounds like a clap of thunder to them or maybe they don't hear that frequency. Who knows? Keep getting those NV bonus points and someday your number will pop up. It took me 10 points for this tag.
