I was headed up to film some deer saterday morning and just before evanston on the Utah side was a nice 6x6 bull

Did anyone other then me see this bull as when I came back threw the head was gone I am shure if the fish and game got to the elk they would have taken the whole elk not just the head

kinda sad as the bull had a good jeans with good 3rds just a really nice looking rack

I would have guessed the bull had been dead for less then a hour as he was still warm and not riggy yet

He was hit in the hind quarters and probably died from trauma or blead inside as there was very little blood

Anyway I hated seeing such a nice bull dead and wasted but I didnt knowwhat I could have done (now that I look back I guess I should have called the sheriffs department????)

We also seen lots of deer dead on the side of the road mostly fawns and does but a couple small spikes and 2 points

Kinda the shits we need the snow for the wildlife and us but it shure has its price at times atleast this year is showing sighns of being wet and warm lets hope it stays that way

Good luck in the 2004 draws as its my turn to get a good bull tag this year LOL

I was headed up to cut a christmas tree sunday and saw the headless bull. I figured it was a bull because of the size of the thing, I first thought it was a horse as I approached it. I didn't stop to take a close look. Sad to see all the critters getting killed on the road. Could you imagine how many deer there would be to hunt if they didn't get killed on the road. It seems every time I go somewhere, I see a few dead deer. There must be thousands of them killed here in Ut on the roads.

It's funny you never hear any tree huggers bitching about how many animals are killed on highways every year!!!!. If they really cared about wild critters they would fight that battle...

around here they make the transportation dept. build special underpasses so turtles can safely get from one side of the highway to the other. i kid you not! they're doing it on Hwy 93.

UT:

Its a shame when an elk goes to waste. I see all those elk 2 or 3 times a week(near the Evanston border). A few weeks previous, another bull was killed near the same area.

I for have seen the elk near the road but have never seen the cross. Obviously, the elk sometimes want a break from the deseret hay.

Does anyone know what the rules are on road killed animals? I had an archary tag this year and on my way home I came across two freshly hit cows on the road and didn't know what to do so I left them there.

Are there signs for the turtles to get to the underpass? Seems pretty ridiculous. What makes them think the turtles will use them?
