What do you think this will do to the odds of the draw with the big money going for almost $900 on the elk hunts ?????

should definatly be better odds for drawing, Them money hungry sons a B's I hope the people that passed that choke on turkey for christmas.

I bet that it does not help the odds on the real tough draws, but will make odds better for the general and other easier to draw units. I bet a number of people send in the extra $$$, especially in the tougher to draw units, hoping to get better odds in the first year of this price increase. Whatever, I will not send them extra money, as it would give them the message I like to take it there.

For sure the odds won't be any better and why pay extra for a Gen. tag?? With hunt appl. services and with guys using 'Checks' from the Credit card it aint no big deal for most anyone to send in the extra high $$$.

The Deer tags being only $500-ish will be going like hotcakes for the big regions and special late deer hunts.

The sheep tag is making me real tight and like Elmer said, I aint doing it for elk/deer because Wyo. F&G will think everyone is okay with the raises.....

I'm just sticking with my normal game plan and hoping something falls my way.

I see with the deer and antalope there willbe more tags available for the special apps I would guess that would make a difference

As for checks and credit cards wyoming dont take credit cards I thought and checks still need to clear the bank so I would guess that would make a difference

It would help outfitters that guide in gen areas as I would guess it would be a shoe in for a gen tag

Well anyway good luck all on the draws what ever way you go I really hope you draw (as long as its not my tag)

It doesn't matter if they take CC. You can always get cash with your Card.

Ut...no they don't take 'Credit Cards' but they take the checks that guys send in from the credit card accounts now that they don't have to send in the Cahiers Check like in the recent past. Your personal check doesn't have to clear the bank 'prior' to the appl. deadline, you/one would just have to have the funds in the bank to clear the check whenever it passes. I think last year my elk check didn't clear my bank until like Feb. 12th and my deer check didn't clear until like May 6th. Both dates way after the appl. deadline dates.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-12-03 AT 06:13AM (MST)[p]I was looking into going to Wyoming in 2004. Are you guys telling me that the deer tags went from $220 to $500? and the elk tags are over $900. I thought the increase was only 20%, how do you guys come up with $500 for deer and $900 for elk. Is this for the special draws or the general region hunts? Is there somewhere that says exactly how much the price goes to or is this just speculation. A little help on this one please.

With all the states non-resident Elk tags costing around $1000 is getting crazy. I don't mind having tough draw odds as a non-resident, seems only fair to have most of the tags going to residents who live in that state. But to charge these crazy prices is going to ruin hunting for the most of us. NM charges over $3000 for a sheep tag. Time for Arizona to double their prices for Non-residents.

dont put in for the tags, that is the only way they might learn. The only problem is there is to many people that will pay it. I have said it b4 and I will say it again and again and again, hunting is a rich mans sport and they dont give a damn about the average guy/woman. They are going to cater to the big rollers and thats that. You can make as many calls as you want or write letters till your arm falls off, it dont mean a damn thing. You dont have the money to pay you dont play!!! I might be wrong or a little bit pissed but that is how I see it. This world is all about money. Hell if I had the money I would join in but I dont. So I will just hunt Utah. Shoot the piss outta things around here till there all gone then hang it up.
