I was wondering if these units produced good bulls? Which of these is the best. Do these units get allot of pressure during archery season? Any good outfitters in the area? Thanks

Hey Mickeyelk,

I grew up with 6a as my backyard. Have guided the 6a and 6c for 9 years now and have seen quite a few bulls taken. 6b is the valle grande, or valles caldera and hunting is awesome but very expensive and tags are hard to come by. A close friend since childhood and fellow guide for the last 9 years has started his outfitting business, this fall being his first. His name is James "bird" Casaus and his outfit is called Arroyo Outfitters. He is an acomplished elk and mule deer hunter, has an excellent knowledge of the animals in the area as well as thier patterns. James also has an extremely intimate knowledge of the area and spends many hours a week scouting for good bulls for this fall. Due to a wet spring and the monsoon rains kicking in now we are seeing some great antler growth. The chances in 6A for a 320+ bull are good this year due to the small amount of tags issued for 6a over the last several years. We are seen many more mature animals called in in recent years. 6 C is really the same kind of elk country as 6a but with twice as many (or more) tags available. I guided an archery hunter in 6c last year and it was a tough hunt due to the extreme pressure.
I know that James is still looking to fill a couple of archery slots for this falls rut hunt!! Here is the info:
