4 Wheelers

Is anyone else out there starting to become annoyed by four wheelers in the back country. Foot trails I've used for years are now well used four wheeler trails. I love riding as much as the next guy, and a lot of hard work has been eased by using a four wheeler, but we've got to draw the line somewhere. I really believe the hunting would be a lot better and more enjoyable for all of us if we kept the four wheelers on the road and only got them off the road to retrieve game? Am I the only one that thinks this way? I know I'm out numbered on the mountain.

I'm with you on this one. They are great when used properly but nowdays it seems like people drive em all over the mountain making their own trail. I think about the big picture and a lot more beautiful country and animals being affected by peoples ignorance on treading lightly and using established roads. It is getting out of hand a little.

I cant believe this subject is going to get discussed again here. Do a search of the archives, threads like this just turn ugly as all get out because some folks cant control their emotions. Weve got guys that will blatently drive all over creation that use this site and weve also got guys that only pack afoot and weve got guys that will flat out tell you that if they catch you off trail on an ATV they will shoot a hole in the engine block. With that variety of users here you can only imagine where a thread like this goes.

I have a wheeler, and I do like cruising on it (on designated routes). I think what should be done, is when you purchase your tag (depending on the state of course), you also purchase an off-road (ATV) retrieval tag. When you down an animal and punch the tag, etc., you go for your retrieval tag which allows you to travel in areas that would otherwise be restricted. The rules would have to be, that you go in (without a weapon), and come out with your game with the ATV/off-road tag attached, indicating you have properly retrieved your game. Game and Fish departments would generate revenue, and the every day hunter would have a means to access/retrieve their game, without the possibility of loss of meat. Besides, as you get older, these critters get heavier. Just a suggestion.

I am a die hard ATV fan but there is *NO* reason *ever* to enter a wilderness area on an ATV.

Most ATV abuse is caused by the summer recreation crowd, namely 16yr old weekend warriors.

To fix the wilderness area abuse all the Forest Service has to do is get a law passed stating if you are caught in a wilderness area you loose your ATV, AND you have to pay for a helicoptor to come air lift it out. ATVs could later be sold to generate income to fix other forest issues. Perhaps tack on a $500 "snitch" fee for the person that turns them in.

Most ATVs are used legally... but there are definitely some rotten apples out there.

I'm with Dallan. We use ATV'S only to get to camp and retrieve game. That's the law!!. We hunt out of camp by foot period!!!. If we find any ATV'S outside of camps we will write down the ORV tag number and give them to the biologist for that area. We have talked to him and agreed to help resolve to ATV problems in our area. No confrontations necessary!!. We all should know the laws and if you don't you should. We have even been told to call him as soon as we find the law breakers and he said he personnally will come and issue citations. We have the power to help take care of this problem by turning in the slob hunters. DO IT!!

I have said it many, many times on this site. It's our resposibilty to take care of the sport we love. If we don't someone else will do it for us the way they want it!!! Wise up fellas and take on the responsibility of keeping our hunting heritage alive and safe.

And unless your elk happens to land on an existing ATV trail you will drive cross country to get to it?

Hey, I've got a crazy idea. why don't you just pack the damn elk out on your back like the rest of us? Cripes are you really that lazy? If you can't get the elk out, don't shoot it....

LAST EDITED ON Sep-29-04 AT 12:27PM (MST)[p]We don't have much trouble with any 4 wheelers, our problem is motorcycle riders. 2 years in a row now when we have taken our camp up a little early we have witnessed motorcycle riders drive right up to the gate (which has a big 4'x4' sign that reads Foot and Horse travel welcome, no motorized vehicles.
They just look at us, open the gate push their cycles through and off they go, you can hear them for about 2 miles down the canyon. No wonder the elk are getting fewer up there, stupid assholes. I made a call to the Forest service as it seems this happens everytime I go up and NEVER do you see a game warden or Forest Service Ranger.
If I see them during hunting season, I'll let them know they can't go down there, if they argue, they'll get a tire blown out. Plain and simple.

As far as 4 wheelers go, If the rider is not breaking any rules and riding on designated routes, then I have no problems with 4 wheelers. I know this issue gets discussed here every year at some time but I have never put in my 2 cents as the 4 wheelers just are not a problem where we hunt. Matter of fact I don't see one all season long.

I agree about the 4-wheelers we had two with us last year but we would walk out from camp. It would not be so bad if they would use their head. Example we would get up at 4:00 a.m. to walk to a water hole to set up yes we could have used the 4 wheelers but why scare the ElK. Any way about the time we are getting shooting light and a bull coiming off the mountain you gussed it they drove right up to the water hole amazing. We changed units this year. We leave Thursday I hope our luck is better.

Been following a thread on another site along the lines as this one. Just wondering how many people here know for sure if and when they can actually retrieve thier downed game with an ATV? Seems like a lot of the AZ boy's didn't know for sure, they used the "we have always done it that way" or the game warden said it was ok excuse. A little further reserch found that the AZ fish and game has NO jurisdiction over the use of ATV's on public land, and have directing people to use them when they were not allowed there. IMO, ATV's should never be taken off the road or trail for any reason

Motorcycles

As I said, there is never a reason to enter a wilderness area illegally on a motorized vehicle...

*BUT* I'll make a bet that most people dont know there are one hell of alot of trails in the Nat Forests that are illegal to ATVs, jeeps, trucks etc but legal to motorcycles! Some trails merely have a "width" restriction on them that rules out quads. Some are marked no "4" wheeled vehicles etc etc.

After doing a little "map research" and talking to some Forest Rangers locally about legal trails I found quite a few areas I previously thought were illegal for motor vehicles but are indeed, open to motorcycles!

In fact I had planned to hunt a few of these areas this year till I found out I didnt draw my general ML tag (grrrrr). Perhaps I will do it next year.

RE: Motorcycles

The 'Quadraphobics' are migrating through Nevada right now !
It started last weekend and will continue heavy through the rest of the month . Sit on I-80 and watch , you'll see a hundred per day with 4 to 8 quads per trailer , and guess what ?
THEY'RE NOT PULLING THOSE THINGS ACROSS THE COUNTRY SO THEY CAN WALK !!!

I know that this is a thread that has been hashed and rehashed more times than I can count. Here is my story of how people on 4-wheelers have ruined a perfectly good hunting trip. I was hunting with my brother and cousin in and area we had scouted earlier in the summer. We chose the area becasue it was an area closed to all motorized travel. We had brought horses to get us back into the hills and assist in retrieving any elk we may bag.

On the third day of our hunt about dusk we had spotted a small herd of elk bedding down on a hill side. We decided to go back to camp and not chase the elk that evening knowing they would be in the area first thing in the morning. Early the next morning as we were getting our breakfast and saddling our ponies. A couple of pick ups pulling 4-wheelers rolled past our camp. Proceeded to unload their machines and drive right up to where we had spotted the elk the night before. When the first crack of light broke the ridge line the 4-wheelers packed up and left the area. As we rode up the trail we could see the damage that had been done. The jerks on the 4-wheelers had merely criss-crossed the entire hillside chasing all the elk back onto private ground. Thus ruining a perfectly good hunt.

So I am amongst those who think that hunters on 4-wheelers should be.... well I wont go there.

My take is that if you are going to hunt and plan on getting deep into the bakc country. Use a horse or get off your lazy back side and WALK. Leave the 4-wheelers home.

First, I own a 4 wheeler. I also hate to have them ruin my hunt by road hunting at first and last light and have had to confront rudeass riders for that. In NM and AZ it is legal to take them off road for game retreival only. I never do it but will ride close and pack quarters out to the wheeler or truck. I have seen outfitters send their camp boys out with an atv and trailer and ride right through the forest to get a customers elk so they have no problem doing it. I have seen much more damage to forest roads after a rain from trucks than atvs. Use your frikkin head and don't be stupidrude and I see no problem. Also we have just very little wilderness land and a ton of actual forest roads so this isn't something some of you can understand unless you have hunted out here.

I say do away with them all together during hunting season. If people can't use that lump on their shoulders the right way they have no right infringing on the rights of other hunters by driving those things all over the place. Bottom line is there is no way current laws can be enforced with the amount of ATV's out there now. If you can't walk there let alone pack it out on your back, you have no business shooting anything there!!!

I think it's even worse on winter range when your looking for sheds, you wait until greenup and the elk have moved up and guess what quad tracks everywhere by the time you get in there, zig zagging all over the sage.
Things that make ya go hmmmmmmmm

4 wheelers have there place.. We hunted on Monroe Mountain this year... we did use our AYT's on the Piute Trail.. however we did park them and hike in ..carried two elk out on our backs to the ATV's parked alongside the trail. They do have a purpose but I dont believe they should ever be used in an area that it is designated no off road vehicles or road restriction areas.

UNETHICAL ASSHOLES ON WHEELERS,MOTORCYCLES,ATV'S ARE SOME OF THE MOST LOWLIFE BASTARDS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!!!

I'D BEEN WATCHING A COUPLE OF DECENT BUCKS PRIOR TO THE MUZZ HUNT,I'M TALKING 11,000+ IN ELEVATION AND FLAT ASSED CLOSED TO ATV'S,LOW AND IDIOT BEHOLD,IT SNOWED JUST A LITTLE THE WEEKEND BEFORE THE OPENER,WOULD OF BEEN 1 OR 2 DAYS BEFORE THE OPENING AND SOME LOWLIFE SUM BEACH BUSTED UP ON THE RIDGE AND ROAD THROUGH EVERY NOOK,CRANNY AND RIDGE,NEEDLESS TO SAY THESE DEER DON'T HEAR WHEELERS EVERYDAY LIKE SOME DO AND I NEVER SEEN THE BUCKS AGAIN!!!

I HAVE THE WHEELER TRACK,I HAVE THE BOOT TRACK OF THE #####,I HAVE THE FINGER PRINT OF THE ##### ON SOME TRASH (POP CAN) HE/SHE JUST THREW WITH NO RESPECT,IF ANYBODY HAS INFO OR HEARS SOMEBODY BRAGGING ABOUT THIS,PLEASE LET ME KNOW,NO,THE FOREST SERVICE PROBABLY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT I KNOW SOMEBODY THAT WILL!!!

EVERY YEAR,MORE TRAILS BUSTED HIGHER & HIGHER AND THE FOREST SERVICE JUST CAN'T CATCH ANYBODY!!!

I TALKED TO ONE YOUNG HUNTER THAT WAS OUT THIS WAY DURING THE BOW HUNT AND SAID HE SEEN A FEW BOW HUNTERS BAITING THE DEER,WHY DON'T THEY JUST GO HUNT A GAME RANCH AND SIT UNDER THE FEEDER???

I'VE ABOUT HAD IT WITH THE LOWLIFE TACTICS OF THESE LOWLIFE IDIOTS,THEY'VE ABOUT RUINED IT ALL!!!

THE ONLY bobcat DOING HIGH ELEVATION TUNE-UPS!!!(REMEMBER:pISTONS ARE HARD TO COME BY AT 11,000 FEET!!!)

LAST EDITED ON Oct-08-04 AT 08:47AM (MST)[p]I would be really intrested to hear from some of the AZ boys that think they can drive where ever to pick up thier downed game... Where did you get your information? And just where are you driving off the road? Most all of the state of AZ's forests are closed to off road travel for any reason WHICH INCLUDEDS GAME RETREIVAL. All you have to do is read page 69 of your regulations... If you can't read then you can call the forest service office that manages that district, not the game officer that has no jurisdicion over the use of machines off road. It seems apparent to me that most ATV riders can't read or they would stay on THE FUGGN TRAIL!

First read my post as I stay on forest roads. Second you need to learn to friggin read. You can't kill game using an atv but you sure can go into the forest to retrieve a downed animal. I just talked to forest service about this issue and if you are careful you absolutely can get your animal. You can't ride into a meadow and you can't leave ruts in the wet ground. If you do either you can be cited. Maybe you have been in Arizona longer than my 50 years but that is the rules here except for wilderness lands.

THERES WHERE TROUBLE STARTS!!!

OH,YOU CAN GO IN ON YOUR ATV TO RETRIEVE GAME,EVERY UNETHICAL ##### OFF THE ROAD WILL BE SWEARING UP AND DOWN HE'S RETRIEVING GAME,DUH!!!

THIS WILL AGGRAVATE A FEW BUT I TALKED TO SOME LOCAL COWBOYS THAT WILL BE ON THE HILL TOMMORROW AND GOD PITTY THE LAWBREAKING ATV'ERS IN THAT AREA IN THE MORNING,YES THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE BESIDES bobcat THAT GIVE FREE TUNE-UPS IN THE FLAT-ASSED CLOSED AREA!!!

WHEN IT'S RUINED AND TOO LATE I EXPECT THE FOREST SERVICE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT,AS ALWAYS!!!

BARR THE BASTARDS FROM THE FOREST PERIOD!!!

I'M NOT TOO HAPPY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED THIS YEAR AND ANY OTHER YEAR AS FAR AS THAT GOES,GET YOUR FAT LAZY UNETHICAL LOWLIFE ASS ONTO YOUR OWN TWO FEET AND USE THEM THE WAY GOD INTENDED JUST ONCE!!!

IS IT:

LAZINESS???

ARROGANCE???

GREED???

SELFISHNESS???

STUPIDITY???

MONEY???

OR JUST FLAT OUT LOWLIFE HUMAN NATURE???

THE ONLY bobcat WONDERING???

If those comments were aimed at me then I will be happy to set up a meeting on any hill you might consider yours so we can discuss the subject. If it's closed then it's closed. If it's not and you tune up anything I own and I walk on to you I can take care of bizness. With that mouth I'm surprised you made it this far. It seems like you talk a lot of trash about the cat tearin up other peoples property.

This could be worthy of Pay-per-view. BOBCAT vs. gleninaz. Not in an octagon, but on a hillside.

The words ethics once again gets tossed about this website. Ethics are in the eye of the beholder. If you have 500 pounds of elk parts laying out in the woods somewhere, obviously it is OK just this once. Right? I won't leave a track and I will use pine bows to fix the mess.

I also love the disclaimers; "I ride ATV's Ethically, on designated routes, on legal forest roads. Why do that? No one else does.

I was out and about yesterday. ATV's are the machine to own. You easily saw 30 wheelers in trucks for every horse. I guess they were going on the spike hunt. Yup, I saw motorsicles, 3-wheelers, 4- wheelers 250,s, 450's, even the new 700cc super power model with tires the size of Bigfoot. They all looked ethical to me.

I am going to go load my bike and go tear the desert up cuz I am chukar hunting today. To hell with spike elk hunting this year. Problem is, I am kind of a dumb ass. I am on MM at 4 am, got up an hour early on accident. :) The great thing about the desert is you can run over just about anything anywhere out there. ;-)

Hunting is sure getting to be a drag. You have to hunt wilderness on horse back to get away from the damn ATV's. Otherwise, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. If hunting ever gets to the point I see the need to ruin someone elses stuff I will quit. The guy that talked about lazy beer drinkers and tv can kiss my butt. What it the hell is wrong with beer and tv?. ;-) I might just go crack one and get started early today, because technically it is still yesterday.

WHEN I DIRECT SOMETHING AT YOU,I'LL DIRECT IT IN A WAY YOU'LL KNOW I'M TALKING DIRECTLY AT YOU!!!

WHAT I'M SAYING IS:IN THIS STATE YOU GIVE THEM AN INCH,THEY TAKE 5 MILES AND DESTROY IT!!!

WHERE I'M TALKING,IT IS CLOSED,FLAT ASSED CLOSED,PRIMITIVE,WILDERNESS,DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS???

WITH YOUR MOUTH I MAKE ONE SUGGESTION:DON'T SHOW UP ON A HILL IN THE PRIMITIVE ON YOUR ATV THAT YOU CONSIDER YOURS,I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES TUNE-UPS IN THE AREA!!!

I'M NOT ACCUSING YOU OF ANYTHING,HELL,I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU!!!

WHAT I AM SAYING IS:IF PEOPLE HAD ANY RESPECT FOR THE LAY OF THE LAND THEY'D USE THEIR EQUIPMENT WISELY AND ETHICALLY,IN THIS STATE IT JUST GOES TO SHOW PEOPLE DON'T FOLLOW THE RULES AND THE FOREST SERVICE DOES NOT ENFORCE THE RULES!!!

THERE ARE PLACES FOR YOUR ATV'S,PRIMITIVE AND CLOSED AREA'S ARE NOT THE PLACES FOR THEM,EVERY YEAR THERE ARE A FEW TUNE-UPS,(I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT OFFERS THEM,I MAY BE THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD WITH GUTS ENOUGH TO TELL YOU I WILL DO ONE IF I HAVE TOO!!!)LAST YEAR THERE WAS A TUNE-UP,(NOT DONE BY bobcat)THE FOREST SERVICE WAS NOTIFIED BY THE OWNER,THE FOREST SERVICE SAID 'DO NOT RETRIEVE IT WITH ANOTHER WHEELER',LOW AND BEHOLD THEY TRIED SNEAKING ANOTHER WHEELER IN TO GET IT AND WERE CAUGHT BY THE FOREST SERVICE,THE LOWLIFE UNETHICAL PERSON IS STILL NOT OUT OF THAT JAM!!!

DON'T BREAK THE LAW AND YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TOO WORRY ABOUT THE TUNE-UP,HOW SIMPLE IS THAT???OH,I FORGOT,I JUST SPOKE WAY ABOVE THE COMPREHENSION OF THOUSANDS OF ATV'ERS!!!

THE ONLY bobcat NOT DIRECTING IT AT ANY ONE PERSON,THERE ARE SEVERAL TUNE-UP SPECIALISTS IN THE AREA,A COUPLE MORE BY THE YEAR,I HAD A LOCAL COWBOY TELL ME LAST NIGHT,IF HE FINDS AN ATV THIS MORNING IN THE AREA WHERE HE ELK HUNTS IT JUST MIGHT BE A 'PERSONAL' TUNE-UP!!!(DON'T THINK FOR A MINUTE THE GUY IS BULLSHITTING,CUZZ HE AIN'T!!!)

Bess-You have a good way about you when it comes to duckin'. You refered to my post that it is legal to retrieve game in AZ. I said if its closed then its closed so we have no disagreement there. I am elk hunting next week with my bow and guess what--my fat ass won't even have my 4 wheeler. Bottom line in these threads is some always want to close the forest in every state to everything except mules horses and foot. Same goal as the radical forest elves groups. If it's closed to vehicles then I will say get yer wrench out. If it's not then keep yer nose out of other peoples biz so you don't get it whacked off. Have a good fall season.

gleninaz

I AIN'T DUCKIN',I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE HELL THAT CAME FROM,I DON'T EVEN DUCK' WHEN TUNE-UPS ARE COMPLETED!!!

I GUESS I GOT UNDER YOUR SKIN A LITTLE WHEN I MENTIONED 'OH,IT'S O.K.,WE'LL JUST BREAK THE LAW WHEN WE NEED TO,WE'RE JUST RETRIEVING GAME',WHAT I'M SAYING AND I'M NOT DIRECTING IT SOULY AT YOU AND I'M NOT DUCKIN' EITHER IS:WHAT IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK THE UNETHICALS ON THEIR ATV'S ARE GOING TO TELL AUTHORITIES WHEN THEY'RE CAUGHT IN CLOSED AREA'S???100% OF THE TIME THEY WILL LIE AND SAY OH,WE ARE RETRIEVING GAME!!!

THERE ARE PLACES WHERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO RIDE A HORSE OR A MULE YOU MIGHT THINK OF OBEYING RULES AND RESPECTING PRIMITIVE AND WILDERNESS AREA'S AND KEEP THE ATV'S THE HELL OUT!!!

SOME PEOPLE ONLY LOOK INTO THE FUTURE BY MINUTES,THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR FUTURE AND YOUNGER GENERATIONS COMLING UP!!!

WHEN ITS DESTROYED AND RUINED DUE TO A FEW GREEDY PEOPLE REMEMBER,IT JUST DOESN'T GO BACK TO WHAT IT USED TO BE!!!

MAYBE THE DAMAGE ISN'T AS BAD IN YOUR AREA,THERES BEEN UNBELIEVABLE DAMAGE DONE HERE!!!

YOU PROBABLY HAVE SOME FAVORITE SPOTS YOU LIKE TO HUNT LIKE MOST OF US DO,IF THEY WERE ALL DESTROYED WITHIN 2 YEARS DUE TO UNETHICALS ON ATV'ERS,WOULD YOU JUST THROW YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR AND SAY OH WELL???OR WOULD YOU BE A LITTLE AGGITATED LIKE ME???HOPEFULLY YOUR HOT SPOTS WON'T GET RUINED,I'M JUST ASKING WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THEY ARE RUINED BY LAWBREAKERS???

AS FAR AS MY WRENCH COMING OUT AS YOU MENTIONED,IT ONLY COMES OUT IN THE PRIMITIVE,WILDERNESS,AND CLOSED AREA'S AND I AIN'T DUCKIN'!!!

LIKE I'VE SAID THOUSANDS OF TIMES:KEEP YOUR ATV'S IN LEAGAL AREA'S AND YOU'LL NEVER ONCE HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE TUNE-UP!!!

THE ONLY bobcat NOT DUCKIN' WHEN IT COMES TO A PRIMITIVE TUNE-UP!!!

gleninaz

I FORGOT TO MENTION,GOOD LUCK ON THE BOW HUNT,HOPEFULLY YOUR HUNT WON'T BE RUINED BY UNETHICAL ATV'ERS LIKE MINE WAS!!!

THE ONLY bobcat NOT DUCKIN' OR BACKING DOWN ON THE SUBJECT ABOVE!!!

HaHa! Now I know where to find some fun. Just go pokin' that kitty. Like I said you keep screamin about something I agree with you on. If it's closed then go up to them and tear their heads off. If it ain't then you be real careful with them cowpokers and wrenches. Thanks for the luck.

It's funny how people get there panties in a wad on this site. Everyone will always claim they obey the law but I guarantee you we have poachers and plain ol a--holes on here too. My point is it just ain't worth it. Dakotakid was right...shouldn't have started this topic again...sorry I even posted a comment earlier. I'm going to kiss my kids goodnight, go to bed and not even worry about it. Why can't everyone just do the same. Threats, name calling...sounds like PETA to me. Let's act like responsible hunters and worry about real problems like PETA and the USO taking away the average hunters rights. Stop kickn' each other in the crotch, we're on the same team. Peace, love and a 30" buck to all...goodnight and sweet dreams!

Cory

I'M NOT KICKING IN THE CROTCH UNLESS I HAVE TO!!!

WOULD YOU WANT OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUR KIDS DESTROYED BECAUSE OF A FEW GREEDY LAW BREAKING UNETHICAL IDIOTS IN THE PRIMITIVE & WILDERNESS???

YA,THERES OTHER PROBLEMS,THIS IS JUST ONE OF THEM!!!

THIS THREAD HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES,ALWAYS THE SAME RESULTS,WHAT I SAY ALWAYS PI$$ES THE ONES THAT BREAK THE RULES COMPLETELY OFF!!!

I AIN'T CHANGING EVEN THOUGH THE MOUNTAIN IS DUE TO UNETHICAL IDIOTS WITHOUT HARDLY ANY OF THE IDIOTS EVER BEING CAUGHT!!!

IN THIS AREA THERE ARE PEOPLE GETTING MORE AGGITATED BY THE YEAR,HARDLY EVER A CITATION ISSUED,UNREPAIRABLE DAMAGE DONE MORE AND MORE EVERY YEAR!!!

WHERE WILL IT ALL END???

THE ONLY bobcat NOT TOLLERATING ATV'S IN THE PRIMITIVE OR THE WILDERNESS!!!

This weekend on the opening morning there were elk all over the place. A lot of people could of filled their tag, but right at first light people rode their atv's right up to where the elk were, scaring them away.

YA

THATS PART OF WHAT HAPPENS!!!

HAPPENS EVERY YEAR!!!

DID YOU CALL THE FOREST SERVICE???(LIKE THATS GONNA DO ONE DAMN BIT OF GOOD!!!)

DID THE TUNE-UP CROSS YOUR MIND???

ANYBODY WITH ANY SENSE WOULDN'T RIDE ATV'S UP THROUGH THE HERD LIKE THAT,BUT I'VE DEALT WITH IT FOR YEARS!!!

I'VE FRICKEN HAD IT!!!

NOBODY TEMP ME WITH A TUNE-UP TONIGHT THEY JUST MIGHT GET ONE!!!

SOME GUYS FROM NEVADA SHOT A RAG HORN BULL IN A ROUGH AREA,THEY TOOK THEIR WHEELER IN AS FAR AS THEY COULD,(THIS IS A FLAT ASSED CLOSED AREA)AFTER ATTEMPTING TO PUT 1/2 THE ELK ON THE WHEELER THEY STARTED MOVING AND ROLLED THE WHEELER TO THE BOTTOM,ABOUT 2000.00 IN DAMAGES,AS GOOD AS A TUNE-UP IN MY EYES,THE FOREST SERVICE FOUND OUT ABOUT IT AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT ALL HAPPENED,I WAS THINKING,A TUNE-UP WITHOUT THE AID OF TUNE-UP SPECIALISTS,WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR???

THE ONLY bobcat LAUGHING AT A SELF INFLICTED TUNE-UP!!!

I replied earlier, and unlike bobcat, i am impartial to where, who, and why! I see a wheeler, i don't like it, i am going to give it a, like bobcat so excellently states it, one hell of a tune-up.

now, with that being said, let me say this! I intially did not have a problem with four wheelers, motorcycles, three wheelers, whatever kind of wheeler you have, but as the years progressed so did the ignorance of people. some years were worse than others, some years we would run into people using there wheelers like respectable, knowledgeable hunters and then the next time there were idiots. It has just come to be that the idiots have outnumbered the good folks. that is why i now believe these damn machines should be banned. like i stated on my earlier post, i don't really give a chit when, where, how, or any damn thing else. never should they be allowed in any national forest, wilderness area. PERIOD!!!!!!!!! i am not trying to pass any blame to anyone or hand out any unneccesary name calling! however, if you come to wyoming, south wyoming to be more exact, and if you want the GPS cordinates i will be happy to give them to you, and you don't obey the rules, i am not going to waste my time calling the forest service, game and fish or any other government agency, you are going to find your wheeler with four flat tires and a 7mm RUMMY bullet in the block of your glorified machine. bottom line, follow the laws and rules set up to help preserve our national forest land for our future generations and these problems would quit becoming issues. unfortunately there are some people that just don't know how to do this

You're right Bobcat .
The slobs here in Nevada have ruined alot of great hunting areas by turning them into ORV parks with trails in every canyon .Bottom line is ; they get on em and stay on em , and ride them anywhere they can get them into .
And kids !! The slobs are teaching their kids to hunt all day without touching the ground , a sore thumb and a red ass at the end of the day , man that's huntin !

We just got back from Idaho and we used our quads. In this part of Idaho you can use atv's to go into camp only but once your in you can't use them to hunt off of. You can retrieve your downed game but only after you have drug it to a designated atv road. It works great. I like the law. We had to explain it to a couple of fellas who were planning on hunting that area by driving their atv's in and hunting from them but after explaining the law to them they understood and left.
