Hi guys I was wondering if anyone has hunted unit 61. my dad drew a late season bull tag. I would appreciate any help you could give he waited 9 years for this and I want it to be worth it.

A friend of mine just came back from hunting there (Oct 9 - Oct 13). Was in on 5 or 6 different herds all with big shooter bulls - he missed a huge 7x6 - too far. He won't mind talking with you - his email is [email protected].

Myself and 2 buddies just got back from the early rifle bull hunt. I am going to post a story and pictures tonight about the hunt. Moral of the story was the elk were in the rut and bugeling for 1-2 days and then shut up. No animals on the top they went into those deep dark holes. I went into them for 3 straight days and couldn't connect. We hunted the northern part of the unit. This hunt is not as easy as we thought it was going to be. Good Luck. Gary
