Unit 27 Idaho Elk

I am planning on hunting unit 27 in Idaho next year with horses. How is the hunting in this area? I have looked at alot of maps and websites. Some nice bulls coming out of there. What is this area like and what are the average size bulls coming out of it? Thanks.

I was just in the Loon Creek Area last week--no bulls there at this time of year-we camped a mile in and then hunted back in 6-7 miles --I did see 2 cows and 2 calves one day and 2 cows and 3 calves the next day, probably the same group as the first day-saw one small buck and maybe 10 does and fawns---there's an outfitter right there at the forest service station--Diamond D Ranch--they hunt to the east--chris
