That first picture was decieving, I thought they were both just average bulls until I saw the side view, then WOW truly great bulls. I can only dream of hunting elk in the snow.......

Idaho Elk Hunting pictures

Ok...these are pictures from last week. We killed these two bulls along with another cow last wednesday. The bigger bull is a 6x7 that should go somewhere in the 330 to 340 class. We haven't put a tape on him yet. We aren't like Doyle Moss and carry one everytime we go out. The smaller bull is a 5x6. Seen tons and tons of elk, thankfully the wolves haven't moved into our area yet. But I don't imagine they are too far away. Anyways just wanted to share the pictures with ya.

RE: Idaho Elk Hunting pictures

Thanks for the comments guys. We ended up with 6 elk all together the two bulls, a spike, and 3 cows. A very good hunt, but hard hunting. Good snow, and they elk were still up high, making it hard to get to them. But we always manage to find a way. That big bull was shot from 50 yards away with a .300 RUM and a 180 grain bullet, and it didn't go all the way through. So that goes to show you how tuff this big ole bastards are these days. He probably weighed 900 pounds or better on the hoof. He was a big big bodied elk. My dad has been in on hundreds of elk kills and says it one of the biggest bulls body wise he has seen. I'm the kid on the right in the camo in the one picture. Thanks for the comments, good luck with the rest of the season.

It's hurts to see others hunting when it's been back to work for the last two months. Shouldn't we all be able to hunt year round?? Congrats!!!
