Well opening day was good to deerlove as he finaly got his smokepole
bull and after missing 3 shots last year I am shure he is happy with his one shot kill...
The area he was hunting was a hell hole but it has held elk the last few years him and a couple of his freinds headed in after they had been watching a few bulls the days just prior to the opening day of the muzzaloader hunt after what was shure to be a long hike he found a few elk laying in the pines and he made a stalk down on them to close the distance to 100 yrds he signaled his freinds to let them know he would take a shot but he needed to wait for the bulls to stand up as he had a bad angle to shoot from after a few min the closest bull stood to change his bedding area and he made the shot the bulls ran down hill into some thicker cover and deerlove whent to the last place he seen his bull and was getting ready to sit for about a half hour but only after a few min he could see somthing only 30yrds away and after closer inspection it was his FIRST SMOKE POLE BULL a nice 300 class 6x6
So I just wanted to share this with everyone because last year I ragged on him here at MM after he cleanly missed 3 shots at 3 6x6 bulls in the same area but now I see he was just giving them a warning shot and waited tell this year to shoot one
