That is one of the best Cover harvest photo's I've seen in along time Chris. Great read also. Saw you guys in Eastmans Bowhunting mag. too. Some real huge bulls came out of Utah last fall with the bow hunts. Thanks for sharing..........

Pleasedear and Elkslayer-Thanks a lot for the kind words. It was a great hunt and I feel very fortunate to have taken such a good bull. Utah is producing some slammers but getting a tag is like winning the lottery. What sucks is, I can't apply again for elk in Utah until 2010. But the 11 years to draw it was definitely worth the wait.

Chris, from your photo's in Huntin Fool, it looks like the burn areas from a couple years ago have really grown in Lush! Did the bow-deer hunters cause much of a hassle for ya?

I didn't run into one archery deer hunter and I only ran into one other archery elk hunter and that was only one day that I seen him. The burn has helped the unit out a lot. That place is growing some smoker bulls.

I just got done reading your story, and if I can pass on one more compliment, that is a dandy bull from top to bottom. I haven't bow hunted for a while, but I can only imagine taking that bull on the archery season was something else.

I am sitting on a lot of points, and considering some different options. Maybe with some luck and little hard work, my story can end as well as yours did.

Thanks for the compliments. Make sure you use your points wisely. You could kill a great bull if you use your points on the right unit.

Really awesome bull NTHERUT, I love those main beams...I too enjoyed your article in Eastmans.. In fact I enjoyed all the utah elk articles.. Great job guys.
