I hunted this zone about 13 years ago with a guide and shot a nice 6 point bull. Has anyone hunted this area in the last few years. Are there still large bulls in the Gila?

You better billy there are still huge bulls in the Gila. I know of 4 400" bulls that were taken in the Gila this year. 16B is a hard unit as you probably know. There aren't many roads in the wilderness.

I personally haven't hunted it,but I have had a couple of friends hunting in there and they said that there are still some dandy's to be gotten in there.We generally hunt 15 - that is,when we are fortunate enough to draw a tag! USO is made a main camp down the road between Apache Creek and Reserve and they are doing a WONDERFUL job of SCREWING up everything about elk hunting in this whole region!
