358 STA for Elk

I am thinking about buying a 358 STA for elk/moose hunting. What is everyone's opinion of this caliber?

Had a 358 STA / 257 WBY switch barrel combo built a few years back buy a darn good smith. The 358 will shoot 250gr speers into
a 1/4 inch group ( three shot) at 3000fps.I think it will knock
down about the tuffest bull. What gun are you going to have yours built on? < I've used mine a few times but now it just sets
in the safe,I always get the bug to try something differant>

It is a custom made rifle with a Mcmillan stock, lilja 24# barrel, Sako action, teflon coated made by High Tech Custom Rifles.
