I was just wondering if anyone who hunted LTD elk in Utah last year has received thier Age Data back yet. Guys from the past seem to have received the letter starting in early Jan. I shot a bull on a LTD ML hunt.

I wasn't aware that the information gets sent back to the hunter. I sent in teeth of a LE deer my wife shot in 2002 and never heard anything back.

I killed a bull in Utah's LE Manti unit archery and have not recieved any thing yet. I know my brother recieved a letter with the data from his moose a few years ago so I expect to hear from them soon.

You have to requist the information and pay 20.00 then you will get the tooth information.

You don't have to pay $20, not sure where that idea came from. The DWR will mail you a letter stating how old your buck or bull was within a couple weeks after they get the results back from the lab.

I never got a letter.. and its been alot longer than 2 weeks.. I was told I had to pay 20.00

Elk_horn,
I'm not sure where you killed you buck or bull last year but in the southern region it is free to limited entry permit holders since the DWR ages them anyway to determine the average age of harvested bucks/bulls on limited entry units. Last I was told was they expected the tooth age results back FROM THE LAB around the first of February. Hunters should get a letter by the end of February letting them know the age of their 2004 limited entry buck or bull.

Elk_horn,
Bugle is correct. It was about the end of February last year that I received my letter. There is no charge for it...
He said that it was a couple of weeks after they (the DWR) gets the results back from the lab, not from when you submit the tooth. It will come!!

A bad day hunting is better than a Good Day at Work!!
