With the current changes implemented by AZ G&F Department, have you altered you plans this year? I had to cut back on what I put my kids in for in other states to save up to send AZ the cash up front. Next year we may consider a cow elk hunt in CO and skip AZ. Depends if we draw this year in AZ. Hate to loose the points we have acquired through the years in AZ. Been working a lot to save up and I guess that is the price to pay...I am not faulting AZ and understand why they did it. Things might not have changed if not for USO looking out for their best interest.

Just wait until next year, if the prices pass, well I am not sure how people residents or non will be able to afford it. We will have to use our whole tax return just for the draw, and we do not get thousands believe me. Thank USO and all the greed that this has caused. I do not know why some think that resident prices wont go up much it wont be the same as non, but its sure going to be a whole lot more. I saw the amounts on the AZGF website. YIKES is alls I can say!!

the sad thing is, arizona reaction to the lawsuit(price increases, pay before draw, etc..)couldn't be better for USO. takes a bunch of people who cant afford a guide anyway out of the draw. if arizona wanted to get a crack in at taulman, they should have made it free to apply online, then charge whatever is needed when drawn. new system makes his application service more attractive to non res as well.

Can anybody tell me when the on-line $5.00 apply fee started instead of the paying up front?

Wasn't only 3 years ago that you had to pay up front?

Now it seems to be a big deal? If you can afford the hunt in July, you can afford the hunt in June (oh, I forgot the 0.31 cent in intrests would go for something nice).

I think that time frame seems about right.
We just keep the moneies around in the bank saved for the hunts.
Dont really have a problem with paying up front thats how we did it for years, I am just worried about the HUGE price increases that I know will be coming. Some of those increase are posted on G&F, wont be able to pay thousands for drawings, I have a family of four that all hunt. I am sure alot of people feel this same way.

I think if Arizona goes ahead with the prices they are thinking of charging next year there will be many law suits filed against them for discrimination againsy non-residents and I hope they get what they deserve.

The rates are going up in proportion for residents also. I am glad to see this it will give azgfd the money they need.
