I heard the last Dutton any weapon elk tag auctioned for $29,000 over the weekend in St. George. I think you can go to the San Carlos for that!

My wife is already asking me if I can sell my Dutton archery tag. Should be a fun year:)

I think you should turn that tag in CO. Certainly your hunt is not worth 29k!;-) Can anyone say big Utah bulls?

You will have a once in a lifetime experience. Good luck.

Well, If someone wants to pay me that kind of scratch for my Premium LE Dutton tag, I would have to think long and hard about it...

I'LL BET IF THE QUALITY DROPS OFF IN A FEW YEARS YOU'D CHANGE YOUR MIND!!!

WITH THIS PRIMO TAG YOU HAVE THIS YEAR I'LL BET YOU WOUDLN'T SELL IT!!!

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE PIC'S THIS FALL & GOOD LUCK!!!

THE ONLY bobcat THINKING PIC'S OF AN LE BULL BEATS AN OPPORTUNITY HUNT ANY DAY!!!

I said I would think about it. When you cosider that drawing a LE tag has become a defacto OIL opportunity, it would be foolish to sell any LE tag.

With all the moisture in the state this year, it should grow some fantastic racks and the abundance of feed should have the animals in prime condition come fall.

With the "increasing opportunities," there's no question that the quality (read scores) of the bulls taken from now on will most likely decline.

I would like to see the state re-think the age objective decreases they have instituted. When you consider what has made the LE tags so coveted, it is the opportunity to hunt truly BIG bulls.

I have been on a few LE hunts with friends who have been lucky enough to draw tags. When it comes right down to it, it is really difficult to pass a 340 bull, while looking at him in the scope, or down the shaft. It is my belief that most LE hunters have difficulty being restrained when the have the chance at a 330 bull.

As has been said many times before, the best way to kill a 360 bull in a LE unit is to not shoot the first 330 bull you see.

I just called the wife to let her know that I saved $28,720 on my elk tag. I always get an update when she goes to the mall on how much she "saved", so I thought I would let her know I am doing my part. Now I just have to figure out what to do with all this extra money I saved? :)

With the changes they are putting in place I was hoping this would be the year. ktc and BESS, I hope with all those points you get to go next year. I would hate to see you both starring in the upcoming elk hunting video's "Raging Raghorns" or "Bulls Gone Mild" due out in 2007. :)

THE ONLY SADDLESORE HOPING TO SEE GREAT BULLS ON MM DURING MY 5 YEAR WAITING PERIOD.

Good luck 338 and jrb.

Two years ago at the SFW banquet, three Pahvant LE Elk permits sold for $32,000, $28,000 and $26,000 respectively in one night! A Wasatch Mtns. Archery LE permit went for something like $14,000.

It's pretty easy to see why the powers that be want to sell off Utah's elk herd to the highest bidder. I think I was the only person in the building two yeas ago who actually wanted the Pahvant Elk permit that was raffled off. Everyone else there that I talked to wanted the 4-wheelers and trailer they could sell instead.

In the end of the day the guy that won the raffle choose the 4-wheelers and thus the third tag went up for auction.

Someday I'll draw my LE elk permit. After the 20 years I've already waited, it will be worth every bit of the $30,000 someone might want to pay, to me.

Cheers,
Pete
