For those that know this area, can you tell me what's the average score of the bulls typically taken off of this unit? I'm heading down there this weekend to start scouting the area so I'll post some pictures if I see any velvet.

Thanks, I still can't believe I drew it. I'm pretty sure I had 6 points going into this year. I drew the NR tag and I'm from Boise, Idaho.

When they raised the price to $800 this year I second guessed applying but glad I did now. I just figured I would be getting the unsuccessful response anyway and be done with it for another year. My wife wasn't so happy about it though. lol

Clark I will be sending a PM your way.

I would say the average bull is 330-350. There are a few roads washed out out there, and don't go through any bog areas or you may be walking a long ways for help.

So you heard about some bogs out their Russ LOL! Thought the damn truck was gonna end up living out there.

Mo- good to hear from ya. Walked more than once for miles out there this time of year.

Congratulations on the draw. I have a friend who has hunted it. Bring an extra 2-3 tires. Rough country. My guess 330-350 ave bulls. Some of the biggest bulls in Utah are on this unit 400 plus. Some remote areas with little pressure. Difficult to glass many areas. Good luck.

Isn't this Utah unit across the border from the Ely elk units on the Nv. side??
Can ya access from the Nv. side with less hassle??

Drove around most of western part of the unit next to NV and could have covered more in a boat then a truck last weekend. Alot of the roads were washed out or flooded. Made for a fun time in the truck but managed to get around without too much trouble. Needed the shovel a few times to fill in some washed out areas. It's going to be an exciting hunt and looking forward to a few more scouting trips. Beautiful country and lots of it.
