Good Friend of mine drew San Juan limited Elk Tag. (Archery choice of weapon)

Reading from other posts... several of you have great suggestions. Any past hunters out there willing to enlighten us on what you've seen in the last few years. What areas to focus on. My friend has spent time down there last year. Have good ideas but definitely want to seize the moment with all good information to check out. We will be scouting all summer during weekends... love get get some MM insight.

Thanks for your comments.

JUST HAVE HIM TURN THE TAG BACK,I'M NEXT IN LINE & PROMISE YOU I WON'T BE ASKING ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE HUNT OR UNIT,I'D TAKE REAL GOOD CARE OF THAT TAG FOR HIM!!!

JUST KIDDING,DON'T GET MAD YET!!!

IS YOUR BUDDY WILLING TO HIRE A LITTLE HELP???

YOU'VE GOT TO REALIZE THIS IS PROBABLY A ONCE IN A LIFETIME HUNT!!!

DON'T BE AFFRAID TO GET HELP IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE UNIT,I'VE SEEN GUYS WASTE 9 OUT OF 10 DAYS OF A HUNT,YOU CAN'T AFFORD THAT!!!

MAYBE YOU DON'T NEED HELP,I'M NOT BEING SMART,JUST SUGGESTING NOT TO MESS THIS HUNT UP!!!

IT'S BIG COUNTRY & YOU'LL SEE THINGS YOU'VE PROBABLY NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!!

THE ONLY bobcat WAITING TO SEE PICTURES THIS FALL & GOOD LUCK!!!

I drew the archery tag last year and decided to hire black timber outfitters just as tx suggested. I had a blast and was glad I did. Travis made me pass up a lot of bulls that I wanted to shoot. They videoed my hunt, if you are interested in seeing it let me know. I have watched it about 60 times now and it never gets boring. Saw bigger than I shot, but with a bow it is pretty tough. Still got a good one though. I quit counting after 20 bulls I could have shot, 40 yards or less broadside. After 200 bulls sighted I quit counting. I live in the Ogden area, but am in Salt Lake nearly every day.

Killed him on the 9th day on the hunt, which was the 11th of Sep. He is a 6x7 with an extra 2nd, or maybe 3rd. 360 P/Y.

What happened here?????

Why did MM pull two other postings from other hunters? Maybe I didn't read the fine underlining print somewhere.

This is upsetting.

Are you in bed with the Outfitters? What purpose is your forums if they can't be a way for us hunters to communicate with our public forum?

Good thing I read them earlier. Hell why don't you just yank the entire posting all together?

Any explanantion would be appreciated... unless this is pulled.

Here is what I would expect from using this site?

"Hello, and welcome to MonsterMuleys.com! I want to thank you for your interest in our site. The goal in starting this web site was to bring mule deer and elk hunters from across the country together to share their stories, photos, ideas, and views on hunting. We're dedicated to providing the most entertaining and educational information about mule deer and elk hunting as possible. As you may have seen, our site offers many stories, photos, tips and a great forum for hunters to share their ideas and ask questions of other hunters. We rely on our readers to keep the site "fresh" with new content. We encourage reader contributions. We even give away prizes to the winners of our story and photo contests. Without the wonderful support of our readers, the site wouldn't be possible."( Founders comments on website)

Please let all the comments come through and remain on the site. Or perhaps this was a one time computer error.

I responsed to at least two other posting of hunters that had drawn out here and now they aren't there. Can you bring them back up...

Love to speak with other hunters that have hunted the San Juan Unit for limited Elk.

GW

I BELIEVE THE POSTS THAT WERE YANKED BECAUSE THERE WERE OUTFITTERS E-MAIL ADDRESSES LISTED!!!

YOU CAN'T ADVERTISE ON THESE POSTS!!!

I KNOW YOU'RE PROBABLY THINKING IF ANY POST SHOULD OF GOT YANKED IT SHOULD OF BEEN MINE!!!

HAVE YOU TALKED YOUR BUDDY INTO TURNING THE TAG BACK YET???

LOL!!!

THE ONLY bobcat WANTING THE TAG,REAL BAD!!!

That would explain it...

Thanks, BOBCATBESS

Just needed to know. the fouth response made me wonder why he could make reference to an outfitter and the other didn't have any mention of outfitters.

???

Just for the record.....

I think this site ROCKS. I appreciate all those that make it happen. There is alot of things that have to make this happen behind the scenes.

I am fairly new to the site. My comments may have been taken offensive and I apologize to MM admin. There are certain rules that I failed to read and therefore I am "mending the bridge that I may have burnt."

PLEASE note that my comments and questions were promptly answered by MM.

My you all have a very successful hunting season this year.

check out bowsite, lots of utah guys there with a ton of knowledge, one even drew the same tag.

Man that is a good tag.

Good luck and I cannot wait 10 more year (NR) to pull such a tag in Utah!

Didn't mean to cause a rukus. I actually thought that BTO was a sponsor on this site. Sorry for the confusion. BigOmuley made my point better anyway. I have never hunted with them, but got a chance to drive through their hunting area with one of the guides last summer and was very impressed with the country and their knowledge of it. Good luck with your tag.

venor, ergo sum (I hunt, therefore I am)

GW, get ahold of the Black brothers. I helped a friend that I work with get with them for his muzzleloader tag. He killed a toad with their help and they are very reasonable with their prices.

Can't go wrong with what might be a once in a lifetime hunt....

Thanks for the advice.

I have spoken with BTO and one of their guides. He was very helpful. I would like to thank all those that have responded.

I appreciate your comments and thank you MM for this forum that I could find such open suggestions.

I think Bill's talked to Travis already hasn't he Gary? I cant wait to see how that hunt goes for him....

Do you know if he is still up bear hunting?

Ernie

I hope Travis and Todd gets that a Video out soon, Sure would love to see it, I know they got some really nice shots of big elk and deer on film.

If I drew a San Juan Elk tag, I would be giving these two guys a call. Which way you decide to go you are going to have a hunt of a lifetime, There is a ton of nice bulls in that area.
