I just found out that I drew area 111 for the rifle cow elk hunt. I no the last 2 years the success has been 70% and 60%, so it should be a pretty good hunt. Anyone that has any advise on where to concentrate for a good chance at a cow, I would not mind the advise. After this hunt, I will be putting in for the bull tag from now on, so I won't pressure your secret spots. I am planning a scouting trip for the July fourth weekend. I will be hunting on foot and with a quad. Let me clarify the quad usage......It is only used on roads designated fot it's use. I don't hunt off it, but use it to get to a trailhead where I hunt off foot. Since I don't have horses, I would prefer and area I can get it to a road fairly easy once quartered. Just looking for a few general area's to concentrate my scouting....Thanks in advance for any help......NV30378

Ed, Thank You. At lunch I was looking at the first place you mentioned on the map......Thanks Again.

JMO! take a truck ride the roads and bust it on the road if your lucky, the deal about the quads?, don't worry about it their will only be about 500 of them in 111 on opening weekend, your goin after the meat not some 350 class or better hog! I'm not sayin where to go cause i'll bet dollars to donuts that Ed pointed you in the right direction...forget about huntin on foot those girls will be headed to the highest peaks at daybreak, one thing though they still have to water, it will be interesting to see how many roads they fix this yr , if it's like everywhere else the Duck Creek basin will be a mess! Damn did I say the Duck Creek basin? oops! oh well Vegas owns it anyway I won't be there...Greg
