WY Gen license questions

I drew a WY general license and I plan to hunt area 74/81. When I applied the application book listed that license as antlered only, but when I received the regulations a few weeks ago it listed that area as any elk. And I was wondering is this a misprint on their part or have they changed the limitations to include cow for that area. It seems odd to me since the outfitter M&F out of Jackson said the area has been impacted by wolves to some degree and I would think that cows would be off limits because of that. I would appreciate any info on how the WY G&F has come up with this and some inside track on the area.

when they print the proclumstions they are only tentative the y may change but i would call them to make sure and take yor reg's with you when you go p.s. i can't spell.

The final season setting meeting was in April, well after NR application were due. Even though there may be some wolf impacts, the area is likely over objective, sounds like to me. Therefore the option for antlerless elk is coming into play.

I'm not objecting, because if the hunt for a mature enough bull doesn't pan out I'll take the meat (and all my flatlander friends are putting in their dibs for "their" share as well). But this month's Bugle magazine ran stories about the Yellowstone wolves and at least on the Montana side it seems the elk have taken a big hit, putting a crimp in several outfitters livelihoods. But with WY this all seems to be being kept close to the vest, perhaps out of consideration for the contentious wolf program.

Well I'm from Illinois (please don't hold that against me), and I do not know where I'm going and I do not have the equipment to do this myself. He came with a good recomendation and the price seemed reasonable. And I'm glad to hear that there are elk all over the place, so it seems that my freezer will get filled up this year in about 90 days.
