NM 16A Archery ?

Been lurking on here for quite a few years, but with limited internet surfing abilities (dial up, ignorance, etc!) I have neglected to register until now.

I understand that I might be going out on a limb with my very first post, but I'm hoping for some insight into the New Mexico Unit 16A first season archery tag I just drew.

From what I can understand so far, it doesn't sound like I'll need to do the guided thing, but am looking for some sort of lodging (+ food maybe even???) so I don't have to haul my whole camp down from home (Bend, Oregon).

Anyway, I appreciate any insight you guys might have to offer. I know I was pretty damned excited when I got home from my two weeks guiding salmon fishing trips in Alaska and found out I had drawn this tag. Time to get the bow back out and start shooting again (rifle hunted last couple of years).

Man, that is a GREAT archery tag. I had it one year and would pay good money to have it again. I have the wilderness this year.

You will have a great hunt. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!

Send me a PM and I can tell you some areas I hunted. Just get off the roads and the elk will be there.
