NM Unit 34 Archery Elk

Just wanted to say congrats to everyone that has drawn a tag this year. I hope your scouting efforts are revealing the bulls you are after.

I have drawn an archery tag for unit 34 in New Mexico and was wondering what size of bulls I could expect to be hunting? I will be hunting the last 2 weeks of the season and was hoping to find out any information that I could on the unit. Any help would be appreciated.

The population is great. As far as "big" bulls go, it does not compare to other areas of the state.

You will see elk! Getting a 5 point plus, might get interesting!

Everyone I talk too who hunts 34 bow LOVES it and sees many huge bulls.

Thanks DonV, I have heard the same thing as you also. I will have 2 weeks to hunt it so I hope I can find me a good bull and stay on him until I kill him.
